Watching the 312 press conference and Strickland responds to a question after Dana about the Australian Govt trying to stop him from headlining the card.

I dunno what happened, but the Australian gov sometimes gets involved with this kinda stuff with famous people from overseas..

It’s kinda a waste of time.. by banning someone like Sean you’re patronising your own country, you need to let people think for themselves to a degree.

I think Sean’s an idiot by the way, but who are the government to be mediating this kinda stuff anyway, it’s not like Sean is mobilising people towards a cause or anything, he’s just a redneck moron. It’s a bad precedent to set, no one wants to live in a state where the government exercises too much mind / thought control.

Edit: I looked up some of the fucked shit he's said over the years, and it's very bad. So yeah, fuck him..

I think it all depends on what he said. If he's advocating for people to start shooting each other like in a Western, or that people should be free to assault one another to handle shit talk?
Then I could understand them seeing him as somebody coming to their civilized nation from a completely backwards place, that needs to be put under control and monitored.

But now I have no idea what he said, so you could be right too.

Looked up some bad shit he's said:

January 2022 Tweet: Strickland tweeted that if he had a gay son, he would consider it a personal failure, implying that homosexuality equates to weakness.

"Just ten years ago, being trans meant you were mentally ill, but people like you suddenly decided to change everything. (he said to a journalist) You are an infection, you are the definition of weakness—everything wrong that happens to this world is because of you."

That shit is pretty heavy, fuck him what an asshole.

In general I don't like the idea / precedent that government mediates loose social commentary. But these comments are very cunty, so I wouldnt feel bad for Sean if he got banned..

I think De Sean is a cool dude but damn was that press conference uninteresting. Didn't feel natural. Sea is try harding and that's when it's not funny, neither is it a comedy stand up show to begin with. His tone is all loud and WWE. Tatiana is moderately interesting and Weili made us all listen to chinish giberish, she is cute, but I don't understand her chinese questions. And noone else there. Any press conference that isn't on a big 2 layered stage is fail. Too bad. Apart from the fights press conferences are my favorite UFC content. This one was trash. Literary only 4 people on stage. 2 fights and 1 is half chinese linguistically. Big fail.
Make big stages mandatory.
