Austin Theory > Adam Page?

Jim Cornette expressed this hot-take on a recent episode of his pod, saying that Austin Theory has a better physique, more "personality" in the ring, and is just an all around better worker than Adam Page already, even though he's only 24 years old.

And that wasn't Jim burying Adam Page. Just like everyone, he loved the Page Danielson matches. But that's just how highly he thinks of Austin theory.

Cornette constantly raves about Theory's impeccable timing and how he does all the "little things" right in terms of selling and psychology. In particular Jim put over how theory looked completely at home matched up against the likes of Finn Balor and AJ Styles.

I haven't watched much WWE Raw lately, and I know Theory is involved in a cringy story line with Vince MacMahon. So I hadn't seen him wrestle much. After hearing Jim rave about him though, I looked up his match with AJ Styles, and son-of-a-bitch, he is good.



Now, I'm guessing that Jim's opinion that Theory is better than Page won't be popular around here. But I can definitely see where he is coming from.

Theory hasn't had a chance to showcase himself the same way Hangman has, so it's hard to say Theory is better.

Hangman has some modern classics with Omega, and twice with Danielson and some modern tag team classics teaming with Omega against the Young Bucks and against FTR.

Hangman has also gotten to showcase himself in big PPV matches against Brian Cage and PAC in matches that have gotten universal rave reviews.

Theory has some good TV matches, but I don't think that's enough to hype him being better than Hangman yet.

and I'm saying all that as someone who isn't a Hangman fan and someone who thinks Theory has a ton of potential.

I think Cornette is not comparing resumes, he's just giving them both the eyeball test.

Austin Theory is great and can only go up from here. Even though the McMahon storyline is bad it shows what they think of Theory.

WWE has the best potential future superstars with Austin Theory and Bron Breakker.

Theory has a better physique, sure. I don't think he's as good (yet) as Hangman in the ring, or at least hasn't had the opportunity to show it yet. Tons of upside for sure. Character needs to evolve. The Tyler Breeze selfie thing ain't it.

Although I think Theory is far from the natural talent Cornette thinks he is, I can certainly see the guy being a decent career guy. He'll be the next Dolph.

theory is young but he got an early start at 18 and already has 6 yrs of experience, mostly working Evolve with indy turned nxt/wwe/aew stars and finally became the face of Evolve/champ. there is a good Evolve doc on youtube that focuses on him. i'm not a fan but i do acknowledge the effort hes put in and potential to be a bigger star.

but hangman as a wrestler has plateaued
and as a person that guy is a pussy.

He definitely has a shit load more enthusiasm and charisma. Hangman always looks and acts like the doesn't even want to be there and is always afraid he's going to say the wrong thing, and he's AEW champion for fuck's sake.
Austin and Kevin Owens had a great match on Raw this past week.

I think Austin Theory is better but even die hard AEW fans would have to agree that Theory is a better investment due to his age, size, physique and athletic ability.
