At this rate is boxing gonna make a comeback?

For ticket prices 5-10x less than UFC.

UFC just can't compare? Really? Not even last night?

Head to head UFC vs boxing's biggest draw, same night, same city. UFC announced $22M gate. Canelo? Yea, not as much.

I never mentioned Canelo. And he isn't boxing's biggest draw. I literally just told you AJ vs Dubois will be in front of 100,000 people.

Ryan Garcia - Tank davis announced a 23 Mil gate

Boxing is still King!
The mega stars are the only must watch in boxing. Sadly watching last nights co and main event shows use how boring some of these ufc fighters are.

Lmao I watched the boxing card along with the UFC card and the production and fights is not even in the same universe

The lack of comprehension displayed in this thread, with regards to out of context responses, is mildly amusing

If you go on the boxing forums you'd see people saying the Canelo PPV was the worst ever, people saying they were quitting following boxing, that Danny Garcia took a dive, that Canelo is slipping, shitting on Canelo for fighting Berlanga etc. Pretty much any forum dedicated to any interest is going to be full of negativity because thats the main way discussion is generated - nitpicking and bitching about stuff.

Also

1) Boxing doesnt need to make a comeback, it never really went away
2) MMA is inherently more exciting and its not very close either

Joshua is going to fight Dubois shortly in front of 100,000 fans. The UFC just can't compare. So you're right, there is a significant difference.

Thats the UK, darts draws big crowds over here for fucks sake. The NFL UK games do crowds that big and ive never known a single person in the UK that watches that shit. The UFC itself could sell out a stadium in the UK if they wanted but for some reason they are against it.

You completely contradict yourself, on one hand you're admitting only the mega stars in boxing are must watch, while you then go on to say that some UFC fighters who are far from the best fighters or stars of the sport are boring to watch.

Either compare megastars vs megastars, or just all boxers vs ufc fighters overall when comparing which one is more entertaining.

Truth is, boxing cards are usually mega lame apart from the main event, while UFC cards can sometimes be stacked from top to bottom or have some super matchmaking for the prelims. And I say that while agreeing that apart from 1 or 2 fights UFC Noche wasn't that entertaining.

100% agreed there.

There are even some discussions and plans taking place to make a Muay Thai event in Wembley (90,000 capacity) with all the big British stars and some big Thai names, and that would also probably still sell out too.
