Crime At least 10 killed, 30 injured as vehicle crashes into New Orleans crowd

It would almost certainly make guns far more costly for criminals not only in that they would be more expensive to purchase but because they'd become legal liabilities. Gun charges would be used to lock up known criminals for whom there is not enough evidence to convict for any other crime.

I'm sure at far lower rates than in the US though. Not to mention I doubt the UK is a wellspring of black market guns like the US or former Soviet stockpiles are.

Yes, the UK never had anything like the gun culture of the US, which is why it would be so exceedingly difficult to reduce gun crime in America by anything like the same extent. Guns were literally built into the fabric of America since the beginning.

AK's are relatively cheap to make. OCG's could afford to buy them in bulk and sell them at a price that would still give them a large customer base.

As usual the anti 2nd jump on this however it seems like most of the deaths and injuries are going to be from the truck hitting them. He was taking out as soon as he got out.

He managed to shoot two cops, both of whom are listed as stable. So not exactly flesh wounds.

You act like there aren't programs to mill AK47s.
I'm not though, I already said criminal orgs will still have guns, just moderately to significantly fewer amounts which means they'd be reserved more for those higher in the hierarchy rather than low level dipshits. As is even shoeless Haitian gangsters can afford these rifles.

Not saying we should ban guns to be clear, requires too much political capital and I don't like the idea of messing with the Bill of Rights.

WR had that odd ball leftist from NO who posted here frequently. He was a bad comedian and did tours of the city.
@Voodoo_Child906 I think?

*edit*
Not endorsing "bad comic" or "ofd ball leftist" but I do remember a guy who did tours around the city, was friendly and helpful with info for posters who were travelling there

That or they can bribe local LEOs and military for their gear. In Mexico something like ~45% of illegal guns come from the US and another 40% from LE and military stockpiles.

Isn't there a Cartel that was started when a large number of Mexican Army SF realised they could make a lot more money selling drugs?

The criminal enterprises would be the ones making massive profit from SELLING the guns. They wouldn't just be consumers, they'd be the dealers. Fueling our American addiction to guns the way the cartels fuel our addiction to drugs.

Fireworks?

Does look at least some of whatever that was, was fireworks. But seems intentional IMO. To park at the entrance, right in front of the doors where people enter and exit (highest traffic area)

Maybe hoping the first explosion trigger the car battery to explode? I dunno.

Apparently investigation underway

I might be wrong but from what I remember they were SF that were hired by a cartel then after a bit fucked the cartel off and went into business themselves.

Manufacturing quality arms at scale is not as easy as you guys are making it out to be and if they were truly banned in the US that would crater consumer demand for them. Your average US gun owner is not a criminal, they just like to hunt and go plinking. Not worth a criminal charge for most.

And most black market dealers are not manufacturers but rather smugglers, getting their hands on quality guns from local or regional militaries and police forces, former USSR stockpiles, or the US consumer market.

I think the majority came from the Obama administration, which was caught trafficking guns to them. Who knows what has been going on with those controlling the Biden admin

Apparently, they've cancelled the Sugar Bowl.
Postponed until tomorrow KT. More recent info on last night described below.

Operation Fast and Furious IIRC former POtuS Barry's main man (after Michael) Attorney General Eric Holder's allegedly had GIVEN 15,000 Fully Automatic Machine Guns to a major cartel to "follow their trail" and see where they were distributed.
ALL were "lost"/s and 1 turned up, it was used in the execution of one of the US Border Patrol.
The shooter was never found. Not Shockingly, neither were Holder's handed over and cartel received Brand New 14,999 military grade weapons.

That was then, and Brandon's hand picked current admin choices Kamala and Myorkas have appeared equally as treasonous in protection of USA Citizens AND those honorably serving to protect their Country.
