They are separate things. Can you explain what’s the problem with introducing reasonable safe storage laws backed against criminal negligence charges.

Like anything we take for granted, there’s a line. If I have my hunting guns in the back window of my truck and then leave it parked, unlocked with the windows down in a busy shopping mall parking lot- would I be liable if someone stole those guns and used them for crimes against someone else?
