At 29, who was/is better, Fedor or Jones?

Fedor won 2 rounds to 1 but it could have been a draw.

Anyway...what does that have to do with the topic? Fedor is way past it now and came out of a 3 year retirement.

Is Jones better than a 40 year old Fedor that has low level training partners? Yes.

Is Jones better than a 29 year old Fedor? No

That comment was for those fans who were saying that Fedor could easily walk in the UFC right now and be at top level, that`s bullshit. IMO Jones has way better resume and accomplished more than Fedor at this point and Jones could easily be at top level for about 6,7 years. Mad respect for both of them.

And Fedor won 2 rounds but lost 10-8 the first round and we can argue about a 10-7 which would make Maldonado the winner, but obviously he wouldn`t win a decision in Russia.

lets see one has fought top level competition his entire life while being under constant testing and the other has fought subpar competition with losing records in an era were throwing a jab was unheard of, with no testing and very few people from that era have actually done well in the ufc, choice seems pretty easy.

Fedor did not cut weight. Jonny is scared of the big boys therefore he can't be in a conversation with TEH GOAT. Jonny is merely a lhw goat.

Fedor.

Jones is only the best in his weight divison. I'd take Stipe, Hunt, Cain, JDS and Werdum all over Jones. Fedor was the ABSOLUTE best and ruled all regardless of weight.

Fedor wasnt sniffing coke and crashing cars.

The 1st round could have been a 10-8 but a 10-7 is for when a fighter is completely dominated and offers no offense the entire round.

In the 1st 30 seconds of the fight alone Fedor had already busted Fabio's nose and had already cut his eye. Fabio blocked a lot of shots but more got through than people realize. Fedor dominated the first 1:30 of the round and had his moments even after getting rocked.

I don;t think many peopel at all are say that Fedor would run through the UFC after the Fabio fight

If you count Gus as a loss for Jones, then surely you must count Arona as a loss for Fedor, right?

Arona fight was a toss up, tons of phenomenal grappling... Not much damage.

Jonesey got #SLAPPED around for 25 minutes by the only guy in his career he faced his own size.

They said BEFORE the Maldonado fight, after that they would be stupid to say it. I gave it a 10-8 for Fabio in the first and 10-9 for Fedor in the last 2 so a draw imo but Fedor didn`t look good at all and should retire on a 5 fight win streak. He is a legend and no need for more unless he needs the money.

I am talking about the Fedor fight.

I thought Jones won 3 rounds to 2 when I saw the Gus fight live but I have only watched it once. I could see how people could think that Gus deserved 3 rounds but I would have to watch again to be sure. As of now I think Jones won the fight
Ok, then that means that you agree with my point: that the two fights are equally controversial--as in NOT controversial.

But if you want to play games with one fight, then it only seems fair to play games with the other.

Got slapped around?? lmao, Gus eat like 15 head kicks and you people seem to forget that Jones almost stopped Gus with elbows, knees and punches...Both man got fucked up that night and the decision could have gone either way. I scored 48-47 Jones but i could see Gus winning.

Are you saying that Fedor fought a ton of beasts while they were juicing and that gives him an even stronger case? I agree

Anyway...true testing didn't even start until around a year ago. Before actual random testing anyone could pass. Especially if they hid under an octagon to avoid testing like Jones allegedly did.

It was a close, good, fight.

And he won it.

I wasn't the one who brought up the Jones - Gus fight. What are you talking about?

If one was more controversial though it was the Jones - Gus fight.

Fedor fans should never talk about controversial decisions again after that Maldonado fight lmao and i will repeat...Fucking Maldonado!
Eh? The decision was fine. Mainly the commentator was literally retarded as fuck.

Jones couldnt do any of that at Fedors weight class.

Jon would be like 0-6 at hw.

Fedor.

He only lost 1 round in his career up to that point (in 2000 against Arona) He didn't lose another round until 2010 against Werdum.

He also dominated in the toughest division to stay consistent in.
Lost the first round to Brett Rogers
