gotta be careful here bro. I'm not a big believer in stepping on other men's toes. However, I would gauge here a little more. There's obviously something going on here. I would say she is in fact in a relationship. If you investigate her a little more you will prob know for sure. She's probably wanting to leave him but not wanting to look like a complete whore or a liar so she's at least letting you know. I guess that's kind of respectable, but not the fact that she's sliding in the DM's of another man.

But look, if you must step on another man's toes, I guess it helps if you don't know him.

I would think the most obvious answer is she's wanting to get to know you before she dumps him and pursues you. She may not actually "cheat" in terms of kissing or sex. I got you a quote to go by below:

I agree with you. I made that mistake in college. She was tricky, always giving me flirty vibes and trying to keep me within reach. But would give me these weird feelings like "she doesn't cheat." Her boyfriend lived across state and she only saw him like 5-10 times a year.

Anyways, we got a little closer eventually. But one week she invited me to meet her at a bar, so that night I went to meet up with her only to find out her boyfriend was with her. I just walked out. She could have at least told me that shit. Flash forward a year and she was in a relationship with another dude. I'm glad it wasn't me that got caught in that trap. You could say she just used me for attention to fill the void of her boyfriend being out. But I never got too invested

This is a case of pick your poison. Either she is a cheater or she is a dishonest individual. Lying to get rid of someone is fine but lying to rope someone in is insidious in my view. It seems innocent at this point but relationships are like boxing matches. You start off strong and pleasant but the novelty wears off and you get to see more of the flaws. If she is already like that in the beginning, then its only going to get worse.

Best foundation for relationship is to be so enticing that she knows if she screws up you can move on. This will deter women of manipulative nature and so you end up women who want to prove themselves to you.

Why would you agree to go out with a girl that said she has a boyfriend? It's clear you don't want to be friends with her, so why advertise yourself as such?

Cancel that shit and tell her you what you told us, in that you're not looking for just friendship, and not comfortable infringing on another dude's girl. Your boundaries will be clear and she'll respect you, whether she notices that overtly or not.
