Fedor, Wanderlei, Shogun and GSP are the 4 fighters responsible for me becoming a hardcore MMA fan.

And it appears Fedor is now on the brink of signing with the UFC.

8 years ago, this would have been exciting news to me. But not now. The heavyweights in the UFC now are just too skilled for Fedor to handle. Back in the day he either fought small heavyweights or big unskilled heavyweights. Now you've got heavyweights who have both size and skill and are far more tactical then a decade ago.

I don't see him winning against any of the top 10 in the division. And I know a lot of people are gonna say "so what, it won't hurt his legacy. It won't effect what he did in his prime." I beg to differ. I think if he goes on a 3-4 fight losing streak, it would hurt his legacy immensely. He would still be the greatest HW of all-time for me, but the general mma fan will for sure start hating on him and calling him overrated. Especially with the casual fans who still haven't heard of him. I feel he should stay fighting in russia and japan and just keep his mystique in tact fighting fringe fighters. I don't want to see Fedor getting dismantled in the UFC. It will truly break my heart.

If you're a fan of him, you want to see him fight in the UFC.

If you're worried about his legacy, you're not a fan of him, you're a fan of being a fan.

Fedor v Lesnar tho

I know what you mean.

I feel the same way about Shogun. As much as love him, deep down in my heart I want him to retire since I realised he was no longer the same.

who gives a fuck what the "general mma fan" thinks.

love to see fedor fight. win or lose. there will be war

faithless slime.

His legacy is cemented as the GOAT.

Whatever he does now being out of his prime and coming off retirement is irrelevant to be honest. Wants to fight for money and promote his org.? good. Wants to attempt to become the best again? good as well. When he was at the top he fought in the orgs. that had the most competitive HW divisions (Pride, Affliction, Strikeforce) and that's all it matters.

It should be entertaining watching Hunt walk off KO the guy. But other than that I really don't want him here either. Keep the focus on fighters that plan on sticking around. No Bullshit title shots etc.

I want to see him!

But at 205lbs.
He's a chubby 220lbs anyway.

Fedor Vs Jon Jones at 205, book it !!

Actually i was hesitant myself TS, however, if there is any time to come back to a depleted heavyweight division it would be now. I can see Fedor doing mediocre and making a run at the belt, but i believe Stipe Miocic & Cain Velasquez give him all sorts of trouble.

well...unless he wins the title again. If he wins the title again itll probably be the first time we had ever seen a fighter as dominant as he was fall and then rise all the way back up to the top again, especially after 6 years? its unheard of.

Well....i wonder about his cofidence....he needs to fight a top 15-20 fighter..to see where he is REALLY at....not these guys he has been fighting or gonna fight...How does fighting Moldanado tells us anything.

Brock comes back..takes on a top ten fighter right off the bat......Brock by sub Rd. 3.....vs Hunt or Fedor

He will enter the cage and win the UFC title for the glorious motherland of Russia. He will meet Putin and hand deliver the UFC title. :)

Just kidding, just kidding

Doubt it's going to happen. He's no longer the same.

He is 40 years old. He really should stay retired because he has nothing else to prove. But apparently he still has that competitive spirit inside him.

He is taking a risk hurting his legacy but imagine if he won the UFC world title..imagine what that would do for his legacy.
