Per Dan Rafael's twitter.

He spoke with Arum and Arum told him the PPV will likely do between 400-500K and he deemed that not good.

Not surprised

The majority of people thought pacquiao won the first 2 fights

Not really bad either, all things considered.

outside of the hardcore fans, did anyone know he was actually fighting this weekend?

i saw very few mainstream outlets covering the fight, and rightfully so

they want to put on a disgraceful fight nobody wants to see, they are going to get disgraceful numbers

Arum/top rank are stuck in the days where HBO takes care of everything abs ask they have to do is sign on the dotted line. What happened to actual promotion? He hasn't had that in years.

It's not a bad number at all, but it shows that Manny's star power has diminished a little bit.

I said before that this would be a tough sell. Casuals already saw Pac beat Bradley twice. The idea of a "rubber match" being needed was laughable to most. Top Rank also did a terrible job advertising this.

It's more than I thought it'd do, so good on 'em.

Yeah, a bit. After a decade of popularity. But he sold almost 5 million PPVs this year.

That is more PPVs this year than anybody has ever sold in the history of PPV, depending on the exact number. His only competition is Floyd.

Doesn't floyd have more this year?

I expected around 450 k. Good numbers considering how little work went into promoting it. PPV just isn't a thing right now. Golovkin can't sell 200k and everyone likes him, Canelo probably won't do more than 500k either.

There was really no opponent who was going to help Pac do bigger numbers. No one was lining up to see Terrence Crawford either.

Depends on who you ask. Some said 400,000 for Floyd-Berto, with the high estimate at 550k. That's why I said "depending on the exact number" and said Floyd was the only competition.

Such a graceful fight, the number 1
Vs number 3 welterweight in the world fighting each other.

Floyd and Berto did 400k as well.

If there was any doubt that Canelo is the biggest draw in North American boxing, that debate should be over now. That's a good thing for boxing IMO because he has more good fights ahead of him.

I assume most ppl thought it was going to be a 1 sided fight
