Artist H.R. Giger dead (creator of Xenomorph in "Alien" Franchise)

Only 74? He looked that old when he did the interviews for the 'Alien -Special Edition' back in 2003.

His design for the xenomorph was the best alien design ever, only outdone by James Cameron's Alien Queen in the sequel, which all agree was heavily inspired by Giger's design in the original.

RIP

thanks for the childhood nightmares bro.

One of my favorite artists of all time. RIP to a creative mastermind!

The 'alien' is the only thing from hollywood that I'm scared of in real life. Genius design.

Hespect. He was a big part of making Alien awesome.

Amazing artist and those words don't really do justice to his work.

Incredible!

For sure, weird guy but a creative art genius .... R.I.P.

We lost someone who could never been replicated we are sad that we will never see his glory again....also whats the fascination with dicks.

That man had talent AND style. A very special combination.

I started painting entirely because of giger so this is heart breaking news

Now where will I a get a fix for my freudian, mechanical aliens fetish!?

I was going to make this thread but I didn't because I didn't know how the mods would react to the sexual nature of his art.

I hope he gets the most badass coffin ever for his funeral!

Damn. RIP.

I always meant to buy some of his art.

Following the old adage that an artist's value skyrockets after his death, you'd have to be a fortune 500 candidate to make that plan come true now. I do feel that another artist worth mentioning in these discussions is Zdzislaw Beksinski:

His alien design really was a quantum leap when it came to horror.

R.I.P.
