He's fought more than Yair has in the last 5 years. And Yair is in the fight for the interim.

He's gone 7-0 in the same timeframe that Yair has gone 3-2-1.

The ufc knows he is more marketable. Sucks

Yair is getting the fight because (1) he’s exciting and (2) he nearly beat Holloway. He also beat TKZ and technically has a win over Ortega, the point being that he’s been at the top of the division. Arnold‘s first real ranked test was Kattar and while he looked good it was an unsatisfying ending. Personally it would have been nice to see all three of these guys fight again with the survivors meeting for the interim, but that wasn’t going to work with the UFC’s scheduling needs.
