Turns out Arnold popped a rib and tore cartilage training and had to turn down "fight that everyone was expecting" to be the co main event for the England PPV UFC 286. Quite tragic, I'd imagine it was the Max Holloway fight? Fortunately its a minor injury and he will be back to training in a couple weeks so I really hope they can make this fight relatively shortly after they intended. Damn shame how injury prone Allen has been.

Why wasn’t he the co main for 284 though? It’s laughable that the interim “title fight” includes a guy who a lot of people don’t consider top 3

I am sure there are reasons for this but Arnold wasted so much time in UFC , he should be champ a few years ago.
until 2018 he only had 1 fight per year

Yeah, it's really unfortunate. A lot of should/could have been champs in combat sports though, it's a lot harder to navigate a career and so much is still left up to chance and things outside of fighters control. I actually think Allen beats Holloway for whatever that's worth.

same here , dont think that Max will have much chance against Arnold

Arnold allen getting injured has to be a joke at this point. How does he get injured so frequently? It's amazing in an unfortunate way
Because of PEDs and overtraining. He seems particularly injury prone as it is like Josh Emmett.

You realize a major reason athletes take PEDs is for recovery and injury prevention, right?
True, but a lot of guys do end up hurting there tendons/ligaments from a combination of overtraining and their frame not being used to the extra weight on athletic situations. Like most things, it just depends how you implement them.

PED use exacerbates ligament and tendon tears more often than not, and these types of injuries are especially common. Most fighters train like retards and don’t do proper recovery. Doesn’t help that Allen’s dad is a notorious juicehead turkey. That being said PEDs should be legal.

Definitely would've been an exciting match-up. Hopefully see it not too long down the line.

I believe he popped a rib another time too.
Maybe he secretly trains at Chute Boxe sir lol.

Love the UFC is having two FW number one contender fights while the champ tries to become double champ. Yea, zero contenders at FW.................least Allen vs. Halloway and Emmett vs. Rodriguez sound exciting on paper. Alex should fight Emmett or Allen next, but whatever.
