I can forgive screwing up the UFC event, but he seems like such a hothead maniac that it's hard to like him. He almost ruined another event headbutting Hooker at the stare downs. He never learns his lesson.

I do respect that he keeps training and entering random wrestling and jiu jitsu events while he's getting shunned by the UFC, because he really doesn't have to train or fight at all.

I feel like he went into overdrive trying to shill himself after his 2nd title shot started not being guaranteed and everything became up in the air. Don't blame him for trying, but it's a tall order to try to get to the level of Paddy or Gaethje. He has the best active record now, which helps.

Still, make no mistake, since June 2nd 2024 until now in 2026, if he gets the next LW title shot, he will have got 2 out of the last 3 since 2024. And he missed the 1st one to give us Moicano/Islam, ruining his LW legacy for final defense.

He doesn’t need the UFC to satisfy his competitive drive.

He can do anything he wants or compete anywhere he chooses.

He’s not tied to Dana or the UFC. He’s lucky in that sense, a free man.

Unlike most of the roster, he doesn’t rely on the UFC to make a living and get by.
