Throwback Arman got screwed vs Gamrot

Arman clearly won rounds 1 and 2. Gamrot won rounds 4 and 5. It depends on how you score the third. It was a close fight, which Gamrot took over toward the end as Arman visibly tired. Great fight between two high level grapplers. I wouldn't mind seeing it again in the future, but only if it was five rounds.

And guess who was judging… sal d stands for dumbass damato who has famously said he doesn’t use the accepted criteria to judge but actually his own opinion. Tbh it was a close fight but I do think arman should’ve got the nod

I completely agree. I had Arman winning 3 rounds for sure. However I had money on Gamrot so I am okay with the outcome

I felt like we were watching the future of the sport in the fight. Once everyone is so well rounded, it will be takedowns, scrambles, back to the feet, striking affairs'. Such a good fight, really underrated.

I’d need to rewatch it but remember it being very close but neither guy was able to gain much of an advantage or do significant damage to the other. Really came away from that fight feeling like no one “won”. grappling was awesome but it definitely brought to light improvements each man needed to make

Wouldn't say screwed, but people use Gamrot loss to disqualify Arman from top 5 fight, when he really had a very close fight. Meanwhile guys like Chandler have taken L's left and right and are still above him.

That was clearly 48-47 gamrot, sorry.
I understand why people score that figth to arman, but if you watch it unbiased, you'll see that was 3-2 gamrot.
Arman definitely won 1st and 2nd rounds, and that's was the most clear rounds of all figth, Tsarukyan just win with a comfortable margin.

Rounds 3, 4 and 5 are very close rounds, but they definitely go to gamrot.
He's not a exciting figther, very methodical and sometimes boring, but the man knows how to control and keep his range, and that's what he did.

I was rooting to arman in that figth, but I definitely see gamrot victory.
I also developed some hate for arman after that, not because the way he figths, but because of all the crying he still doing even after ismagulov figth.

Tough situation. Overall imo this is the current meta of the game. Basically how Merab beat Petr.
Force the grappling that much, that your opponent has to spend the majority of the round denying, or trying to deny, your grappling advancements.
As long as a guy is good enough a grappler to not get consistently reversed into a disadvantageous position, that can be enough to steal rounds even when losing the minority rest of the round that takes place standing.
As long as the difference in striking isn't night and day, the striker has very little chance to win such a matchup.
Volume grappling is a pain in the ass to deal with.

It's been the meta for over a decade.
