Lol, which "products/companies" are you talking about? They've specifically threatened the livelihoods of "Trump sycophants", whatever that means. That's not companies, that's people. If there was some assurance that a political disagreement was just that, and not an invitation to slander, accost, and oppress you opponents, the guy wouldn't have said it in the first place.

Anyone who supports it, or looks the other way, when the left/Dems do it, has no place to talk.

That said, his departure is obviously justified, as making such bold statements outwardly and on social media, is a mark of an unhinged man.

If you ever did have a political enemy that necessitated violent resistance, as a police chief, you have to be very specific and extremely careful about rousing your supporters. You can't just have them fired up without proper focus, looking to commit violence.
