This would have played a lot better if there weren't congress members, at least half a dozen establishment media members, and multiple democrat appointees calling for a South African style "truth and reconciliation commission", in addition to the existing media blackouts and cancel culture. There is a fair number of masochists in society, but even they can only be pushed so far before they push back. Turns out, the founders had it right, and free speech is actually the best way to keep the temperature low and hammer out the best way forward.

I'll make it simple for you. Multiple law enforcement figures calling for democrats to be murdered =/= people calling for boycotts of companies/products based off of the leaders of those companies' political views/contributions. Again, the fact that you don't understand that is pretty telling.
