I believe the PED use disqualifies him from the discussion. Imo Fedor fighting past his prime doesn't go against his legacy. I hate to say it, but GSP is the GOAT.

100% he should have lost they Reyes fight.

Reyes won the first three rounds very clearly.

The most obvious 48-47 i have ever seen.

Santos fight was very close as well, Jon scraped by with a split decision.

The Gustafsson was close enough that I wouldn't argue Alex winning that honestly.

IMO GSP, Fedor or MM are the GOATs.

Rounds 1 2 and 3 for Reyes even Jones himself said he lost that fight, he even told himself mentally during the fight that this was a good fight to end your career on, he mentally ate defeat in those 25 minutes and the robbery win fuelled his ego

Paulie Malignaggi said one of the biggest indicators is these guys don't get tired in the later rounds. Jones never got tired and in his words could party with the best of them. I believe half of the fighters in the top ten are on some illegal enhancers. You have to be to compete. Once you reach the top ten in MMA it's anyone's fight.

Jones popped for roids and beat the best of the best in the later rounds (except Machida) and continued to win close fights in the later rounds.

I don't have the massive hate erection for Jones as lots do but he 100% lost to Reyes, which changes his status immediately. And he arguably lost to Gustaffson too.

That loss to Reyes though is as conclusive as O'Malley's loss to Yan. Before clown camel ass was found out getting them title shots, he was already found out by the Russian. These robberies completely alter the trajectory and their status.

You throw every UFC fighter under the bus so that you can believe your own narrative that your favourite fighter has done nothing wrong by using PEDS .

GSP had 13 title wins to Jones 17. GSP is definitely a legend by any metric and one of the greatest of all time. With that said and to your point Jones beating literal generations of fighters in title fights NEVER LOSING is incredibly difficult and something I don’t see anyone else accomplishing. You may not view that highly but it is a pretty incredible feat that only someone that wins a belt at an early age (jones at 23) and consistently just fucking winning over the next 15 years whenever stepping into the cage is something we will likely never see again. It’s arguably more difficult to win 17 title fights over a 15 year period always against “the next big threat” then being more active through your prime and riding that momentum while in your glow. Jones entered the UFC at 21 and retired at 38 without losing a fight at the highest level. I view that as something pretty crazy even if he’s fighting slightly over annually during his title run.

Its far more incredibly difficult to win 33 fights in the span of just 1 decade and doing it while being undersized and outweighed every time, facing multiple generations of champions and top 10 fighters from across all the promotions in the world. To do that and go undefeated in those 33 fights is mind boggling.
