Ariel is an investigative journalist not a reporter. Enough with the "snitch" b.s.

Ariel seems nice enough, but he can be annoying as well...it's pretty apparent the way some fighters respond to some of his questions...questions which often-times don't have black and white answers.

So he doesn't ask cookie cutter morning show questions...fail to see how that is a bad thing. Could care less if the fighters don't see it coming.

If you piss off a big company, you have to assume they will not be pleased. I have no empathy for him.

I agree to some extent, but it's not like he's obtaining groundbreaking responses from anyone, either.

He seems to be more of a pest, than anything.

Based on the thread title, he is a noun that begins with a vowel. Thus, I think that you are priming us to call him an "asshole."

investigative...lol

what has he ever done in the way of accountability reporting?

he's a gossip writer, plain and simple

I'm sure the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL just love every single article written about them and the athletes in those leagues. Difference is, they run things like professional businessmen.....something the UFC brass hasn't learned throughout the years.

Thats cause you've trained yourself to be a good bitch and take it up the ass from corporate powers. I bet you also regularly elect politicians to lower the taxes of people infinitely richer than you.

He is an rhinoceros.

His batting average on stories is impeccable. True journalist, not a gossip writer at all. If he was, the UFC wouldn't need to ban him. They banned him because he always gets the early scoop, and reports things before the official announcement.

Think it has something to do with how he got his Intel for this Brock Lesnar issue.

Understandable, if but UFC is trying to move towards being more like the "other" main stream sports (NFL, MLB, NBA), which was one of the reasons for the "uniforms" you can't kick out media. Especially someone like Ariel who I think does a great job reporting the sport. I've never seen or heard of any of the other sports kicking media out of their event. Not even the Patriots when the NFL leaked lies about the deflate gate thing. If Dana didn't want it announced or leaked before hand he should keep his big loud mouth shut...especially to reporters.

Calling Helwani an investigative journalist is an insult to real investigative journalism.

With all the inside information he has in the mma world, he could be producing real stories. Instead he chooses to derail formal press releases via twitter a few hours before they happen for his own benefit.

That’s not the important work.

Imagine the NBA blacklisting a reporter for breaking news about a trade before they did lol.

Asking questions that aren't black and white is how you get quality answers. Guys can't prepare as well for those, so it gets much better info from them. That's called being a good interviewer.

Zuffa are being petty bitches about this. He did his job, and did it well. if you're really so pissed about the news leaking maybe try to find out who leaked the info and go after them.
