Media Ariel and Chael argument

Two very unlikeable people going at it. Sonnen spews so much garbage on YouTube, while Helwani is obviously way too biased, considering he's supposedly a journalist. All in all, it's embarrassing. Typical for MMA, I guess.

I don't think the demand is high. This fight was panned by many boxing pundits. This fight was not carried by MMA fans. It's a sold out arena but their ticket prices start at 30 dollars to 1000. This isn't the same as selling out in Vegas. England charges 25 dollars for a PPV event. Them selling out a million is very different from an American event selling out a million for 80-100 dollars a buy. This event is an obvious case of sportswashing. I don't think you would even dispute that.
 
If you ask me whos side i'm on in this, its francis only.

These two both came out looking pretty lame and questionable after this argument.

Ariel is very clearly in this to brag and gloat and make it about himself, rub it in Dana and UFC's face. He doesn't care about francis. You could even tell this in the interview with francis, he kept trying to get him and everyone else to talk about Dana and UFC and he was like "I don't care, i'm happy"

And sonnen has come out on the wrong side of this whole thing being against francis from the start. He can't accept that gracefully, he's focussing on some meaningless talking points to try and win the argument.

The only thing il say in sonnen's favor. When ariel is squeaking in his shrill high pitched voice that chael is a coward, has no balls, is a bitch etc. thats just really pathetic to be saying to a cage fighter, through a screen. I understand why sonnen almost threatened to choke him out.

Ariel: Don't be a coward and saw it to my face and grow a fucking pair.
AGAIN brags about Francis making millions.
Chael goes to leave and Ariel starts calling him a weasel, bitch, coward etc etc. Screeches constantly about lying.

LMFAO I bet even Francis wouldn't be defensive about the PPV but damn, Ariel takes every criticism about the whole event as a personal insult.

I watched it and loved it.

The way I saw it, Chael got emotional first and started slinging insults way earlier than Ariel did.

I could not understand why Ariel was allowing Chael to insult him like that. Instead of pointing out that Chael was acting childish, Ariel eventually stooped down to his level and tried to compete insult for insult.

Aw man, I did laugh. It was entertaining.

"Never argue with a fool. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience"

Ariel is a guy who cares about accuracy, receipts, facts, history. He allowed himself to get into a debate about reality with Chael and Chael will tell you the sun is a piece of green cheese if it will get him some views. Ariel essentially entered Chael's arena, Chael's domain.

If Ariel had taken the high road and pointed out that Chael's behaviour was childish and petty, he could have come out of this all roses.

Instead, I did have some good laughs.

Normally, Ariel would not fall to emotion like this, but he was so manically ecstatic about his victory tour than he started the whole thing off-balance and he ended up facing off with a guy who is more comfortable off-balance than himself.

Lol that was a work. Chael started to laugh at 1 point and they cut to a different camera real quick. I support it though, it was entertaining and serves to give Francis more buzz.

I listened to his show for years and have no answer. No idea how I put myself through that every week.
 
Well, Ariel is a lot, lot smarter than Chael. And he handily owned him in that argument.

Chael is a great example of how eloquence does not imply intelligence. He is articulate, yet quite stupid.
 
It was uncomfortable, but Ariel was a little annoying. It Francis for flatlined in the first he would still have reasons to sing his praises.. but now that he does great he goes looking for receipts, if I was Chael I would be annoyed too.. no win situation being a company man

This makes sense too. Whether they agreed or ahead of time or not, everything Chael does is a work. I can believe he purposefully drove up the drama for views. I'm just not sure whether Ariel was in on the joke or not. At times I thought it was an inside joke but at other times I started thinking Ariel was being serious. Chael's serious is an inside joke and his inside joke is serious.
