I'm curious if there is any wealthy people in the war room. I was raised middle class, and I'm currently middle class. I've had to work for everything I've ever gotten. I've also been working since I was a young teenager steadily. When I was a kid I did odd jobs too.

What's your background and are you rich? If so talk about being rich :)

Define wealthy lol

Got to define it.

I would say no, but some say yes. I'm stable, I'm building equity on two properties with a third in the near future, I am in my own house. I have pretty solid savings, but I'm not rich.

Edit: On the above definition, no.

You have never had to worry about money. Your household income when you were raised was 200 grand or higher, or your parents are millionaires.
Oh hell no , grew up pretty poor , doing well now but I'm heavily invested in real estate, if i liquidated i would likely have a little over a mill

I have never worried about money. Not the other parts though.

In the U.S., the poorest Americans are richer than 80% of the worlds population!

Grew up with parents whose combined annual income was well over 200k, in fact I think when my mom retired 4 years ago she was making 330k alone.

After highschool, I sort of split off on my own, my dad gave me 10k for college and my grandfather gave me another 10k. I was able to put it together and work part time jobs in college to get me degrees. Then I worked for awhile as a school teacher and only made like 40k/year. Used money I saved and public school grants and went back to school for post graduate studies.

After that the economy went south (2008) and I worked several jobs to make my house payments and all that shit.

I've always had a few sources of income from doing contract work and other small business stuff. Now I've got a solid job but actually make more money on my side business. Looking to cage it all out within the next year and move back to the states.

I'm not sure exactly what I want to do when I get back, I could fairly easily continue on with my current career path or possibly go back to school and go a completely different way. Not sure yet.

Tldr; not wealthy but pretty fucking far from poor.

Far, far from it. Broke.

Yet I don't blame capitalism and I don't want any wealth redistribution in order to enrich my pathetic bank account.

Awesome to read. This used to be the majority sentiment in the US. Now its a minority in a victim culture. Class act.

And I ain't got no money
But I damn sure got it made
'Cause I ain't askin' nobody for nothin'
If I can't get it on my own
If you don't like the way I'm livin'
You just leave this long haired country boy alone

Not wealthy but not poor. Raised by a single mother (teacher) without child support from dear old absent dad, so didn't grow up rich. My liberal democrat mother and grandparents taught me that if you want to eat, you need to work.

I like to think of the infamous speech Baldwin gave in Glengarry Glen Ross, specifically when he says, "They're sitting out there waiting to give you their money! Are you going to take it? Are you man enough to take it?"

If I wanted more money there are ways to get some. There is an infinite amount out there and it's up to you to figure out the best ways to take it. Stop blaming others. Very, very few people have a legitimate argument that a third-party is preventing them from earning more.

Parents were making around 120k back around 1990 and they quit their jobs and open their own independent insurance agency. I didn't grow up rich, but we never worried about money. We lived in a nice 3 story colonial (a little over 4000)sq ft and on 10 acres back in 1993 when I was born.

As of now I took over 50% of my father's company after he passed away and 2 commercial rental property percentages , (we just sold one). Most of my assets are in investments, and my % of the commercial property. The property is worth quite a bit.

I grew up poor.

We're not poor now, but we just can't go out and buy anything we want at anytime. We save, then we buy.

Asking about parents makes it a very different question. No, we didn't have much. My dad probably didn't make much more than 30k when I was a kid but probably got up close to 100k by the time I was an adult.

As far as never worrying about money your entire life, that's rarely the case for young adults. The only people for whom that's the case are the upper-middle class marshmallows doing the protesting about "oppression" at universities, because they don't know what an actual tough time actually feels like and assume that everyone else is as soft as they are.

The way to live...

lol, i wish. Im single and an industrial electrician. I wouldnt call myself rich, but i have the money to buy pretty much anything I want at the moment I want it.

and part of the reason I can do that, is because I never do that. delayed gratification is the best gratification.
