Crime Are you rich enough for Trump tax cuts

[<diva2]

It's under 40%, and 30 of that is retired, and the others already pay practically nothing in income tax. You think a tax cut should be for people who already don't pay income tax?
The working poor literally can't afford to pay taxes. That's why we don't tax them. but when you put a tariff on everything coming in the country you're basically making them pay lots of taxes that they already couldn't afford.

So Donald Trump's tax plan raises taxes on 13% of the working poor gives a massive tax break to the wealthy and raises everyone's taxes via tariffs.

That's not an economic plan meant to help the working man and he ran on tariffs as sort of a f*** you and a kick in the balls to foreign countries but he's not stupid... he knew who it was going to be a kick in the balls to and that's the working poor and the middle and lower middle class.

Next they will start cutting social programs that help the working poor and the poor and the lower middle class to help make up her some of the difference

Meanwhile, the rich will continue to get massively more rich.

The only misinformation I'm seeing from the left here is that the companies won't pay any of the tariffs and they will actually. It varies from product to product. But the truth is the seller and the producer and the buyer will pay some of the tariffs.

Trump put a percentage tariff on every washing machine coming in the country and it turned out to be around $80 or $85 per washer that the consumer paid. The rest was made up by the manufacturer in the middleman.

Imagine every single product in the country having a tariff like that... Which he has recommended.

This is definitely not a program set up to benefit the working class.

Walk me through this here. Why does putting tariffs on outsourcing jobs to 3rd world countries get passed down to consumers, but somehow raising taxes and regulatory compliance costs to do business in the US doesn't get passed down to consumers?

All it took was Trump telling companies to hire American for every democrat to suddenly champion trickle down economics and demand that corporations be able to outsource everyone's job to use slave labor in China with no penalty. It went from "I'd happily pay a little more for ___ if it means the workers get paid more", to suddenly "these corporations need to fire everybody and use sweat shop labor in China so I don't have to spend an additional $80 every 15 years to replace a goddamn washing machine".

because we can regulate our businesses' practices, not china's. i suspect some of it would get passed down to consumers but not nearly as much if regulated by the government. what you'd more likely see is layoffs.

no one has a problem with driving business to be done in america but it will cost americans more money for goods. it's the second part people have a problem with, especially since cost of goods isn't what's killing the average american, it's their wages.

Lol, how is it even possible that you aren't making the connection here? This post reads more like you're arguing in favor of tariffs.

tariffs raise the price of product without hurting the foreign manufacturer, since they can just up the price of their merchandise to cover the fee. we aren't their government so we can't regulate their prices.

So you won't answer my post at all? Is it because you're afraid to??

Do you have an honest bone in your body? Can you just address what I said?

You're almost there. The government doesn't set prices here either, so not sure what that was about, but tariffs make it as expensive or more expensive to outsource, so they can either build a plant or factory here to avoid paying them, or they just lose to companies who will.

Companies outsource to China because it's more expensive to pay people here and cover all the regulatory compliance to make it than to just make it in China and ship it. If it becomes less expensive to make it here, and more expensive to ship it from there, then they can either open a plant here and pay Americans to make it, or they can continue making it in China and eat the cost of importing themselves, or they can try to pass the cost to consumers and open themselves up to being beaten in price by someone who will make it here.

Maybe you should learn to read instead of doing mushrooms all day. I just responded directly to your rambling mess of a post, and you clearly have no answer for why tariffs would trickle down to consumers, but somehow directly adding taxes doesn't, because answering that would ruin your little theory. Tariffs are a tax on outsourcing, and do not apply to people who pay Americans to make whatever they're selling.

You haven't been right about a single thing you've ever posted on here.

the government usually doesn't. but it can. we did it in WW1, we did it in the 30's, and we did it under nixon as well.

right, but the prices go up.

again, yes this is true. but prices go up.

You begin and end your post with lies and slander. You are definitely a disciple of trump. Why have good faith discussions when you can lie and slander right??

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

trump raised taxes on 13% of working men AND will increase the cost of ALL goods coming in from other countries. this will make everyone more poor. meanwhile the rest of the poor and middle class will get a 1000 dollar a year tax break while paying MORE than that in tariffs.

but the wealthy got HUGE tax breaks.

this is not a tax system meant to help the working man.

but the wealthy got HUGE tax breaks.

this is a typical shit tax policy meant to shift more of the burden on the average citizen while making wealthy people more rich. and you are supporting it for no good reason at all.

here is an option. how about no across the board tariffs, wealth people continue to pay their air share and a tax break for the lower and middle class. and while we are at it we can strengthen unions fighting for better wages for working men and women. maybe we could also cut out the loophole rich people are going to use on the "no taxing tips" bullshit.
