No, I have the smashing machine on DVD and its excellent, its raw and real. This new movie is totally not needed and unnecessary, why have a fake acted movie when you can watch the actual real smashing machine which was made like 20+ years ago and excellent.
That's my problem with it. Why would you watch someone recreate something that already exist in a candid format ?

That's like hiring Matt Damon to act out the movie Supersize me. No point, just watch the actual documentary instead

Very true, totally agree with everything you said. The reason I loved the original Smashing Machine was it was real, no scripts, it was intense.

The other major issue with the movie is The Rock is 54 years old, the Smashing Machine was Mark in his teens and early 20s, his wrestling teenage years and his early 20s fighting. Its just so silly

The documentary was amazing and i think The Rock sucks as an actor so probably not
im happy for Mark Kerr that more people will get to know him and his story though. he deserves it.

Not going outta my way to see it

If its convenient and free maybe

I seen the original version and not a fan of Johnson

I am curious on how they will portray the Pride era but thats about it

if I'm bored enough and nothing else is on and it's free. why not...

Just watched it. It's a decent movie, but I have to admit even after watching it I don't get why they felt his story needed to be one told by a movie star in a big movie. The Rock does a nice job of showing a character with a lot of range/complexity but it's kind of anti climatic to where I don't see why someone who didn't already like UFC/Pride would find it very interesting.

Watched it just now. It was good. I marked out seeing all the Pride stuff and the legendary fighters portrayed. Had fun annoying my wife who doesn't know anything about MMA explaining Pride to her. It was just cool seeing all that stuff portrayed in a major motion picture.

There were a lot of these moments:

Might watch it.

I don't know who the target audience was.

If it was MMA fans, most of us who know who Mark Kerr is had already seen the Smashing Machine and newer fans likely won't know who Kerr is.

Why is a 60 year old Duane playing an early 20's Kerr? He looks like a 60 year old with botched plastic surgery in the movie.

I'm in no hurry. I really don't care for the rock. Guy is way over exposed, and ends up playing the same character every movie.

HHH and Brock both verbally thrashed from The Rock...In Seattle !
Best WWE Comedic Era Ever, 4 Star !

I heard natty rock is a great actor

Zero doubt he's a great actor, not so natty, but he can also throw down singing "Let's Rock" to John Cena.

His acting starts at 5 minutes in.

I turned it on the other day. Fell asleep 20 mins in. Not in a hurry to try again from the little bit I saw.
