Are you excited to see Khamzat as champ knowing he'll likely continue to be a 1 fight a year fighter?

Colour me optimistic, but I think if Chimaev abandons any idea of fighting at WW and focuses on 185, he might just become more reliable.

No one has been able to beat him. If he becomes the champion, he becomes the champion.
Huh? What a contribution to the thread!

Yes, if you beat the champion, you do become the champion. Thanks for solving that brain buster for us all.

No problem, kid! Happy to help out the asperger users on this site. :)

I think he wants to be more active but the visa issues as well as having a tough time getting someone to agree to fight him is making him more inactive than he wants to be. By all accounts he loves training and fighting and goes too hard in sparring. That doesn't sound like a glass cannon type who's milking the belt as long as possible to me.

But once he's the champion, I don't think he'll have trouble getting fights anymore.

He fought barely 1 round in October, took no damage at all, and still couldn't be ready for a fight in February.

We excited to see another inactive champ?

Maybe he's just needing to time the competition to coincide correctly with his "cylces"

Getting sick isn't an excuse for inactivity? If he can stay healthy, I'm sure he will fight multiple times each year.

It will be easier to get him fights when he's champ. If he's injured, make an interim. I really fail to see the problem here. By all accounts he has addressed his previous issues with overtraining, which weakened his immune system and led to the inactivity.

I want to see the very best and most entertaining fight. Rather see Khamzat 1 or 2 times a year than Strickland 3-4 times.

Whatever happens happens.

If he wins decisively against whoever the champ is. I'm all for it.

I just hope he fights at least twice a year.

It's also possible being the champ can motivate him to be more active. We'll just have to see.

He brings 10x the excitement even if he fights 0.5x as the other champs. Still a good trade off.

Saying someone has a disability when you're the one posting retardation, interesting.

Probably old enough to be your dad, son.

You stay worried about getting your post count up on an internet forum!
