"AI models from Open AI, Meta, X AI and Alibaba can get people to change their political views after less than 10 minutes of conversation, according to new research from the UK’s AI Security Institute, the Financial Times reports.

“What makes these chatbots so persuasive is their ability to generate large amounts of relevant evidence and communicate it in an effective and understandable way,” says David Rand, professor of information science at Cornell University and part of the team behind the report.

Other research has also shown that AI models can be better than humans at changing other people’s opinions. This raises questions about the potential of chatbots as disseminators of disinformation, the newspaper writes."

This is how I know you fools aint AIs... you aint chaining my opinion on anything!

A song I think fits... I for one welcome our new overlords. Change my mind?

Pathetic, in a generation the ability to think for yourself will be a super power.
it is already. The aristocracy were the great thinkers of history and self thought only became mainstream in the post Napoleon era, but it has been watered down significantly.

n anything!
The joke is on AI. Attention spans of greater than ten minutes are fleeting fast.

AI has better political and economic commentary than most of the people here. It hasn't once called me a Nazi or a communist.
Saying “AI hasn’t called me a Nazi or a communist” doesn’t show the speaker isn’t one—it’s a classic appeal to ignorance: drawing a conclusion from a lack of evidence or accusation. Mainstream AIs are also explicitly designed and policy-restricted to avoid sensitive personal classifications (including political identities), so not labeling someone is often by design, not verification. On top of that, AI moderation/detection systems have well-documented blind spots and false negatives—even strong models misclassify edge cases—so silence proves little. And NIST warns about “automation bias,” i.e., over-relying on AI judgments; treating an AI’s silence as proof is exactly that risk.

That was just tongue in cheek more than anything. AI does have more nuanced, comprehensive and well sourced takes on subjects than people here usually provide.

This is the WR, where a bunch of talking monkeys throw piles of shit at each other every day because it's fucking fun. 90% of the time I'm here to blow off some steam, shit-post, and call stupid people retards, the other 10% of the time I might type up something like this.

Imagine thinking the "ai" have your best interest in mind. They are algorithm put together to push their makers agenda.

If you get conned by one, it just shows you are more stupid than a string of prompts.

If im going to be scammed, I prefer those pesky indian phone scammers.
