Been wanting to change my job for a while now. I like the people there, they are like family but the fact is the job (supply chain & imports/exports) is boring as fuck and the pay is average.

So I applied for another job that is in the same industry but in a more Sales type role thay has more holidays 35 days holiday including bank holidays, same commute and £5k (around $11k) a year more. Got offered an interview today but I bottled calling the recruiter back due to thoughts such as 'I don't want to leave my buddies at my current work' and 'what If I don't like it and my current t job isn't so bad', etc and so didn't call the recruiter back about the interview. It's happened before where I have turned down better jobs or interviews due to the fear of not liking the new job and leaving work collegues who I enjoy working with.

Anyone else scared of change? Ways to overcome it?

Depends what kind of change.

I'll be going back to school in September full time after 8 years away, so I'm nervous about the lifestyle change and having all my energy focused on one goal. But on the other hand I embrace the change because it'll lead me to bigger and better things career wise. In this case my motivation is getting away from working shit jobs the rest of my life.

I don't like change. It's why I always pay with a credit card.

Depends on the change. New job, new city? Sign me up. Bruce jenner level change? Naaa, I'm good.

Sometimes but right now my life has become stagnant and change sounds good.

It depends on the change. I respond better to some then others. I do better with changes I'm in control of.

FWIW, your conversion is a little off. A pound is worth $1. 40.

Put it this way, my old name was Bruce.

I'm pretty much doing the same thing, I'm nervous because I haven't been in school since 2012... But I'm excited for the future and possibilities.

nah but change is good. there is always inertia towards change, but that is the same with anything new. you just got to roll with it and let it take place.

change is needed to not let things get stagnant, when you get too comfortable with how things are going it will not lead to the best or desired outcomes possible.

this is all generic shit and actually i think i remembered most of that from year 12 business studies hehe.

Fortune favors the bold.

You could hate it but you could also love it and find better reason to wake up in the morning.

I find having a pile of quarters and nickels in my pockets uncomfortable, but I wouldn't say I'm afraid of it.

I'm afraid of big fucking snakes

I need to change my drinking and drug habits before I die or become homeless... Uh

Yeah, i am actually. It's the #1 way i wish i was different.
Change is the only true constant in life. Well, the unpredictability of women as well, I suppose. No need to stress about it. Just ride it out. At least that attitude has worked for me.

I think I am, I've had the chance to change to a new career at various times in my life. everytime I end up talking myself out of it and then justify it later. I'm currently trying to change careers again (going to school) and I'm slowly talking myself out of it and trying to find a different career when I haven't even plunged into the one I'm currently pursuing.

I used to be a lot more afraid of change, but everything I've ever been afraid of has happened to me pretty much.
