Was watching Tom Dillon (a comedian) on DOAC podcast, and he said something so true.... the whole influencer sphere around buying shit like recommending beauty products or wellness pills just needs to disappear and be replaced by AI. It's not because the AI is so great, it's what he said, these are the MOST boring and vapid people imaginable. These are the people the young generations aspires to be. The volunteering of self-lobotomization of the population and people turning into shells of "real" people. These folks, and those that look up to them, cannot and will not change anything in society for the better.

Great post. I am so glad that I was an 80's kid. I got to go to parties where the most popular songs were on repeat, and if I got lucky, I could get to 2nd base. I hit a homer in '87.

I don't think so and I certainly hope not.

This regime is scary but also highly incompetent thankfully, though the destruction they're bringing is wild. I'm not convinced a literal Manchurian Candidate could do a better job at hamstringing the US, undermining our interests. It's baffling.

It's also unnecessary. The country stops without sufficient labor. As we saw, dock workers alone can disrupt much of the economy. When push comes to shove, the actual power lies with the many, not the few, no matter how important they tell themselves they are, no matter how much they allocate for themselves. It's about how galvanized the mass of people are and I'd prefer not to even get to that point but we're on a very bad trajectory and we weren't doing great before Stable Genius, he's just accelerating our decline.

There's also people in high places that are disturbed by and fighting what's going on. Trump and Hegseth probably just pissed off a lot of people in the highest levels military leadership, that admiral resigned which is highly unusual and they put a three star general in the position of Chairman to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a position usually reserved for a four star general, which makes me wonder if no one else would take the job and if it was a pure loyalty thing, which is par for the course with the Trump regime. Decry DEI, put incompetent/unqualified people into various positions.

I do believe the US empire is in decline though, we're following the historical pattern of other empires. It's about how we manage that decline and at the moment we couldn't have a worse person not to mention a largely corporate compromised incompetent oppositional party. It's also about whether or not the checks and balances and legal framework can handle the present criminality and if the upcoming elections cycles can be kept fair enough to get less insane and more competent people into government.

Edit: And we'll see within the next few years whether or not the present criminality of the regime is held to account.

I don't know what kind of fire-making you've been up to (trying to start one by beating off furiously?) but modern lighters are pretty effective, and don't require much wrist strength to operate.

Now you can go back to hiding under your covers from those scary transgender people. Come back when you have something intelligent or entertaining to contribute.

Edit: we will be alright when everyone sorts themselves out and cleans the TDS out of their cloth ears.

I apologize for the state that this country is in. I grew up where there were norms. Reagan gutted SS and Medicaid/Medicare and shut down mental hospitals. But he did it by the books. These people want to take everything away from us. Citizens are an impediment.

My gripe here is the douche bag idiots screaming about gun rights and being able to "stand up to a tyrannical gov't". Does the military and the national guard in our fucking streets qualify?

They are doing what we knew they would do. Drink their Mt Dew and pop off a few rounds in the back yard. My take?

Leftists want to jump directly to the most violent solution, but they lose the battle of public opinion when their violent acts are recorded.

Compare with the more effective trucker protest in Canada, which ended Covid public health tyranny in weeks to months.

My recommendation is: Voters resolve not to vote for anyone on the ballot; organize a write-in campaign so that someone not on the ballot can win; record voting as evidence against inevitable election fraud.

Excuse my interjection, buy the problem with this approach is that it doesn't end up being the soldier who gets burned in his sleep, but rather the local business owner who actually did good in his life and built something for the community. Wars are won by collateral damage, which is why everyone is bombing the refineries in Russia and Ukraine. It doesn't make anything less tragic for the people whose only "crime" is building something.
