Your observation is surely completely correct and corresponds to the bitter reality. But you have to be careful with such talk here, as talking about real life is not looked on kindly.
A few years ago, a
thread* was created about an African American woman who went on a vacation around Asia. Her experience with racism from the lighter skinned Asians against her dark skin tone prompted her to write a blog or article? I don't remember what. Just her reaction and that she was so angry and sad about this racism was probably a useful lesson as it is so easy to dismiss discussions about the behavior of certain peoples/groups/cultures towards other peoples than their own.
Now when we are talking about Indians/Pakistanis, the truth is that people have a preconceived idea about them around the world. Everything from being geeky to being at the bottom of the list of attractive men.
I can take one country and example of the widespread racism against these men. In Thailand there is a fairly large population from India and Bangladesh. Many tourists have probably come across them as they are clearly visible in tourist areas with streets full of tailors. A lot of drug dealing goes on in the background, but I don't want to go into that.
When its men want to have fun, they always go out in groups and look for a bar with as few tourists as possible. They usually buy soft drinks and often several people share the same soft drinks. Stinginess is something they are very famous for. And the prostitutes know about them and that's why these men are way down on the priority list and nobody cares if it's low season and there are few tourists.
But now it is not only stinginess that makes the girls not want to serve them but the fact that they find them so unattractive that they have no desire to serve them at all.
And there are many Thai girls who think so. And some bars in Pukhet and Pattaya you can find signs with no India man welcome. They are not afraid to speak their mind in Thailand.
