NFL Are NFL athletes the best in ball sports?

Dude needs to hit the weight room

Hits the weight room

Yep, a Nigerian Nightmare.

My junior year of HS we got an exchange student from Nigeria named Robert Bombesi, he had.....I can run......written all over him.. But back home he had never ran track.Where he lived there were no tracks.

Long story short...

Would end up winning league in the 400, would run a 49 something, but......pullled a muscle and mished the valley champs which determined the Cali state meet. He was a senior.

What a smile.

Low level English rugby player gets drafted having never played football before and runs a faster 40 than any of his fellow O Liners at that years combine.

You cant make this shit up.

Marshawn Lynch
The Watt Bros
The Bosa Bros
Ray Lewis

Football can't touch the athleticism of rugby.

Talkin' 'bout real athletes here. Been watching football since 1742. Just don't see this level in football.

No other team sport requires such well rounded athleticism. Size, strength, speed, toughness, skills AND cardio.

I don't disagree, I don't really watch rugby but much hespect for the sport.

In terms of pure cardio I think Aussie Rules would be up there, the ground is way bigger and it's more continuous than rugby or NFL.

The cardio thing means nothing in pro footbal, nobody is doing anything for very long, so cardio a total nothing.

Like I keep saying tiny Kenyan runners have FAR better cardio than any ball player, ah.....so what?

All sports are all about performance, not running three miles,

A huge offensive tackle hasn't allowed a sack in three seasons that is why he is paid big $$$$$$$$, nobody cares that he can't run a mile, that means nothing.

No pro team sports on a par with NFL football if talking big strong and fast.

Who can forget this classic.

Leaving NFL players for dust and literally scoring a touchdown the first fucking time he gets the ball 🤣

I mean how much more evidence do you need really?

Jordan Mailata, one of the best O linemen in the NFL, is a rugby league player from Australia.

Stephen Paea, 2nd highest reps at the combine ever, rugby player from New Zealand.

Travis Clayton, drafted last year, ran the fastest 40 of any O Liner that year, is a low level rugby player from England.

Louis-Rees Zammit, runs a faster 40 than about half of the top 10 performing RBs last season, is a Welsh rugby player.

Christian Wade, on film leaving NFL players for dust scoring a TD the first time he touches the ball, English rugby player.

And remember this is just out of the extremely small sample group of rugby players who actually have any involvement with American football. The tip of the iceberg basically.

All sports are not only about short spurts of performance. WTF are you talking about.

A lot of sports require endurance - such as every single combat sport.

If you want to fight MMA or a striking sport, you need very good endurance. Most of these NFL lineman would get destroyed in a combat sport because they don't have the cardio.

That works both ways.

NFL linemen are stronger, a lot of them were shot putters, discus thrower, javelin throwes.

No doubt if any of them wanted to get into combat sports they'd start training for that.

When I asked the question does the NFL have the best athletes, I was talking about how NFLer can and did do a lot of other things something not see in other sports, TONS.....of NFLers are former track guys, We don't see that in other sports. Some were wrestlers, basketballers, baseballers. power lifters.

There is no doubt the NFL has te better athletes,

Thoe who argue about the facts are more into where they live than anything real. We don't play American football so rugby is better, hahahah~~~

Exactly.

Football is 3-5 second bursts of activity, followed by 20-40 seconds rest. Then when you factor in the unlimited subs, different teams for offence and defence (PLUS special teams) a typical player might be involved in 30 or so plays across a 3+ hour game. Thats not even 5 mins of physical exertion.

How the fuck could they be the best athletes under those circumstances?
