Opinion Are face masks going to make a comeback in 2025?

Wear a mask if it makes you feel better, but fuck right off if you want to guilt anyone else into wearing one.

Sounds like "Big Mask" isn't hitting its quarterly projections

Man that’s a real cool story, but you thinking someone thinking you’re a pussy is something to consider when wearing something. That is insecurity, my guy no matter anyway you wanna try and deflect.

It's not insecurity, it's just a terrible debate tactic you're attempting to use here.

I don't make the rules here so I'm sorry if you're so out of touch with reality that you think people think you're a good person who is saving grandmas when you walk around in 2025 with a mask. I'm just letting you know that it makes you look like a pussy. If you're good with walking around looking like a pussy, then walk around looking like a pussy. No sweat off my back. Just don't get upset with me that I notice that you look like a pussy when your outer presentation is that of a pussy.

I figured Fauci’s quote was what you’d point to. What Fauci said is that he doesn’t remember a discussion as to whether it specifically should be 5 feet vs 6 feet or whatever, and he called the decision to institute that “empiric”—in other words, they changed the social distancing guideline and increased it to 6 feet because of empirical
evidence of smaller distances not working.

And I assume he meant not working during earlier pandemics—I just realized I said up above the guideline came about during Ebola when I meant to say SARS then H1N1, I added an edit to my post—and I think he does a disservice by saying it’s merely empiric, as there was actual data that it was based on.

I’ve addressed this previously, with sourced links to previous CDC manuals
which include citations containing the data:

As for quarantining mail and such, I disagree that this was done in a significant, widespread way beyond the beginning of the pandemic. Here is an article from late March 2020 in which it’s noted that data exists showing that disinfecting mail and packages was unnecessary. Here is another article noting that the CDC didn’t recommend this as necessary for mail and packages.
I suppose once that data was peer reviewed and accepted, someone continuing to do it would be illogical (assuming they were aware of the data), but I don’t really recall that being a thing beyond the first couple of months of the pandemic.

Now, I do recall schools and libraries either instituting a short quarantine on books, or using sterilizers, due to the fact that books or supplies may need to be used before the 24 hour-ish window that COVID survived on services, but that’s a bit of a different scenario.

6’ for an aerosolized virus is asinine. And Fauchi knew it. It could have been 20’.

And they told people to maintain 6’ outside at parks and beaches. These assholes were either lying or fucking stupid. Pick one

Imagine telling people plastic shields did anything….

Do you wear a mask while swimming? For extra safety? lol

It wouldn’t hurt

I only did it last because this poor girl at the gas station asked me to wear one

She said “I don’t want to wear one either and they make me tell people to wear one… and I hate it”

I instantly felt like a horses ass and wore one at most places because I felt awful for the workers

But at least here in Texas, by mid 2020, many people stopped wearing them. They didn’t even make kids wear them for the fall semester.

It was about 50/50 for people wearing them for a long time.

My friends told me this chick from Cali came into a nail salon and start ranting about how many people weren’t wearing them.

They laughed their asses off and told her to get the fuck out.

And if you were wondering how they knew she was from Cali, she proudly proclaimed it during her diatribe, like that would hold water here

Do you always get triggered when people do something that doesn’t effect your life , and if so what’s it like being so sensitive all the time.

Sure it’s not insecurity … however you have to present it to yourself to keep your precious little ego.

lol... Don't mistake triggering for my extreme amusement at seeing compete morons making idiots of themselves

Seriously, y'all are fucking hilarious

20’ is impractical in shared public spaces. Again, there is no magical FauciForcefield™️ at the 6-foot mark. These are steps to mitigate the spread, and they need to be doable and practical.

And maintaining social distancing outside makes perfect sense. You understand it doesn’t matter if we’re in close proximity at a grocery store, bank, or beach, right? If you’re coughing and sneezing all over the place and I’m 2 feet away from you, it doesn’t matter a ton that we are at a park.

lol… it was all stupid and unfounded in anything resembling “science”.

They lied to you… get it through your head

and doubled down when questioned on it

And put multitudes of small businesses out of business with their incompetence

And when one restaurant dared to fight back… they got their business confiscated

And assholes like you cheered it

The frustrating thing is the people defending that stuff will have a “this house believes in science” sign on their lawn.

People in Canada are done with masks. Even the lefty areas are over it. I see maybe 1% of people wearing it, usually Asians and the presumed mentally ill. Unlike Americans we were forced under the threat of fines of thousands of dollars and eventually a prison sentence if we didn't comply. When that kind of coercion is used there's no way for you to want to do it voluntarily. Only fruitcake 'Murkans ignorant enough to not realize how tyrannical the whole Covid thing got in other countries would willingly keep up the charade. "It's a personal choice, etc, I choose to protect others!" Well buddy, we didn't get the choice, only you did.

I don’t see reason for any mandates to come back. Personally, I wouldn’t mind wearing one if I were sick and out, especially in the winter months as it’s almost like a scarf and I feel like you can avoid more interactions with strangers wearing it.

Never forget… and seeing the same NPCs coming out of hibernation to defend what they did…. Waterheads

And the lockdowns were the worst abuse by wannabe authoriatarian dictators

They were guilty of everything they claim Trump would be

“believers” are so dug in that they will never be dissuaded.

Seeing this all again makes me as angry as it did when it was happening

I don’t think I could possibly give a fuck less about a bunch of stupid tweets from total nobodies.

I provided you a link to previous CDC manuals that have 50+ pages worth of citations, literally hundreds of citations which you can use to review the studies and research that was done during the SARS and H1N1 outbreaks that lead to the guidelines in question.

I eagerly await your scholarly review of these, which we both know won’t ever be forthcoming because you can’t be bothered to read anything longer than 144 characters and that doesn’t have a snarky meme.

This is just a dismissive response filled with anger. The things @Scerpi highlighted in the tweets happened. The medium of their presentation shouldn’t be grounds for dismissal.

You know why you don’t give a fuck?

Because your head is up your ass and refuse to acknowledge the truth and would prefer to deny you were played

lol… enjoy your ignorance
