Are Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather respectively bigger stars than Dwayne The Rock Johnson?

I'm not saying that Bruce Lee was as big of a star as conor mayweather or the rock. It's obvious that the three of them are bigger than Bruce Lee but for his time, bruce lee's level of fame would be the equivillent of a scaled down level of fame that those three possess. But you could honestly argue that mayweather and mcgregor are both the modern day reincanrations of bruce lee. Are Mayweather and Conor Mcgregor more well known and more enjoyed by fans and mainstream pop culture than the rock is?

How old are you? Do you have any idea of how Bruce Lee was popular worldwide back in the day?

Bruce Lee has legitimate legend status, equivalent to, say, Jesse James of the Wild West. Neither Conor nor the Rock have or shall attain legend status.

All three of them jumped the shark years ago.

My mother in her late 70s knows who Mayweather and Connor is. Doubt she knows who the rock is

2 of them were real fighters in sanctioned fights but they act like lil children
1 of them was an iconic figure in movies and martial arts, but not in martial arts accomplishments

the 4th one is shit in all areas. fake fighter and shit actor.

They can draw more money than him on PPV, but they can't help sell movies. The Rock is a bigger star by far, he is more recognizable in more parts of the world.

Rock easily.

Hard for the small corner of MMA &/or Boxing to compete with world-wide cinema.

For reference... I'm not a boxing fan, & wasn't aware of Floyd until Conor fought him. Both Conor & Floyd are invisible to teh general public.

Conor did a fighting movie... but that's very narrow exposure compared to Rocks broad span of moviez.

Don’t know what some of you are smoking, in terms of fame and cultural relevance:

1. Bruce Lee

2. The Rock

3. Floyd

4. Colin

Bruce Lee >>> the other 3 combined

this is exactly what i was on my way to typing. thanks. Everyone knows who tf bruce is. Like micheal jackson, Jordan, Ali.

Floyd is the cruiser whatever tf weight class champ.
Conor is the guy who fought the cruiser whatever tf champ.
The rock is the wrestler guy who took over the Arnold, stallone schtick. he will be making stop or my mom will shoot part 2 soon enough.

Paige just makes a killing a doesn't give a fuck. 100% she did not do power slap because she needed money. Shes just become a grinding fiend because she realized being a whore dominates. she maakes wayyyy more than her partner. shes king.

and yeah if she blends her of with fight marketing she can be a big star. its a matter of blending the two.

She has to keep fighting here and there, powerslap, bare knuckle etc. because that's her niche to push her OF. If she only did onlyfans she'd get lost in the crowd of the million other OF chicks and she'd have nothing unique to stand out.

it didnt peek in the mid 90s it peeked in the late 1990s - 2001
I think my original statement overlapped woody you said.
But if I had to pick a year I'd say that pro wrestling peaked in 1998.
That's the year when the WWF finally was able to get ahead of WCW in the ratings and frankly the end of the Monday night wars.
Shawn Michaels vs Stone Cold with Mike Tyson as special guest referee was probably the peak match and that took place March 1998.
Even as the WWF grew in popularity on it's own there was no way that WWF was more popular than both WCW and WWF during the Monday night wars.

The Rock was around peak viewership years of the WWE and that was a huge deal. I didn't watch that shit back in the day(I never will )and I knew half the roster. The Rock eventually moved on to movies and TV shows. He's a household name like plain ole vanilla

Conor McGregor was at the top of a niche sport for a couple of years lol

Mayweather is popular but is he more popular than The Rock? I highly doubt that too. Some people seem to think he's more popular than Ali and Mike Tyson which is laughable

Dwayne?
How do you even end up with a name like that? And what did he even do?
Is that not some oiled up fake wrestler? But hopefully no since I hate those other two.

Bruce Lee is a cultural icon who's influence speeds multiple generations.

You lost me on that one bud, without question more people will be talking about conor and floyd than bruce lee in 20 years, Conor is the most captivating pop culture icon in mma and floyd mayweather is going down in the goat conversation in all of boxing.
That's cuz you're lost. Bruce Lee will continue to be more famous because of the world he came from, which just lasts longer than c-tier athletes

it didnt peek in the mid 90s it peeked in the late 1990s - 2001
He said mid 90's to early 2000's, which is exactly what you said, except more accurate. 1996 is the late 90's to you?

But then that's still the WWF's peak alone, not wrestling's peak, which you'd have to think started with the NWO. The reason the Attitude Era was so big for the WWF was BECAUSE they were behind in the wrestling world because of how big the WCW got.

That's pretty rough on The Rock
