Television ARCANE Season 2 (Premieres Nov. 9)

Am I wrong to say that for those who watched S1 that S2 was the most anticipated TV series of 2024?

And the activity of this thread was quite high after the 1st Act.

Then there was almost no posts in this thread - mostly indifference - after 2nd Act dropped.

And Act 3 was released, and its been 'meh' responses for the entirety S2.

I get it; I imagine a bunch of people are "disappointed", it is what it is. I've never cared about the game, nor will I ever but if they can continue great story telling with other parts of Runeterra, I'd welcome it.

But I'm also not holding my breath, considering what the show costs, how long it takes to develop and the fickle nature of streaming.

I'm afraid of spoilers. Is season 2 as good as season 1?
"No"

I would argue it's still good and still worth watching if you want to see the conclusion of these characters' story arc.

But season 1 was a very tough act to follow.

Not to necessarily derail this thread, but I feel it's relevant;

I watched The Haunting of Hill House for the first time recently and went down the Netflix Flanagan rabbit hole. I've also been watching interviews from the cast and crew about Hill House.

The entertainment industry is fickle; with momentum comes increase studio input and oversight. I think streaming just exacerbates that feedback loop

Here's where I'm going to tie it back to Arcane, when you look at all of the shows that end up in the streaming graveyard after one or two seasons; then it kinda makes sense how, if the creators decided to make only two seasons, how the second season would feel rushed by comparison.

I don't play League of Legends, but through osmosis watching Arcane and having all sorts of things pop up in my social media timelines since season 2 premiered I understand that a Noxian invasion of Ionia features pretty prominently in the game's lore and ties to the backstory of one of the characters featured in Arcane.

So that could account for at least one of the plot's of those shows.

I've been watching quite a few reaction/analysis/review videos, which makes me want to rewatch the series again soon.

Season 2

First 3 eps were pretty good
2nd 3 eps were garbage
Last 3 eps were a cluttered mess

Season 2 just felt rushed, too many plotlines that weren't given enough time to breathe it made the conclusions unsatisfying.

This definitely needed a third season to flesh things out more.

Was still decent but quite disappointed.
