Arabic UFC Fighters?

Why aren't there more fighters from this area? even from Iraq and Iran too.

I can't think of any fighters from the Middle East who have been in the UFC, however there have been Shalorus and Dariush from countries nearby.

So why is there a lack of talent from these countries?
not sure bomb vests are legal in the octagon.

Siyar bahadurzada is from Afghanistan. Lives in Holland but he's Afghan

Speaking of him. Man how piss poor is his ground game! Haha and he submitted thatch! That dude got cut right?

They're not "mixed". Persians are Persians. Arabs are Arabs. If we are talking invasions then that is a different story.
--------------------------------------------------
Geographical regions don't have their own genetics. They're a name.

persians today are mixed with the same blood arabs have..

persians are a mix of indo europeans, arabs, and to an extent eurasian from the mongol invasion.

and glad to see someone who knows commom sense that geographics dont mean genetics.

but it is a strong indicator because of history.

She's not Arabic. Arabs are an ethnic group. She's an ethnic Assyrian.

Gegard is an ethnic Armenian whose parents lived in Iran.

Noad is an ethnic Jew. Noad and Lahat give it away. Jews aren't Arabs.

Iranians aren't Arab.

Iranians aren't Arab.

Kurds are not Arab. He's an ethnic Kurd.

He's a Kurd. Not an Arab.

"Persian" is an ethnic group. He's an ethnic Armenian with an Iranian nationality. Persian ethnics are usually from Iran. I can see the confusion though.

Iranians are not Arab.

Farsi I believe is the correct spelling.

I wouldn't say that there is a difference between Kurds and Iranians. Because Kurds are Iranians.

2% is not "quite a few"...

Damascus was NEVER the capital of the Persian empire. They had over 20 capitals across Mesopotamia and the Levant and Damascus was never one of them.

Iranians are not descendants of the Persians. Persians are an Iranian people.

He's an ethnic Assyrian. Not Arab.

He's an ethnic Assyrian from Iran.

Yes, you are wrong.

In antiquity, Syria was wrongly named Syria as it was taken from the word Assyria.

He's an ethnic Assyrian.

No. Never.

He's an ethnic Assyrian and an Iranian national. There are many diaspora in the middle east who had their nations dissolved. It is up to them to define their ethnicity, not up to you. Kurds are one of these people as well.

By nationality, he is obviously Iranian because that's his citizenship.

By ethnicity and ancestral history, he is an Assyrian.

Why are you talking nonsense?

Close to 0% are Greek Orthodox. Greek orthodox is the absolute wrong term to use.

Most Assyrians are either Chaldean (their version of Roman catholicism) or they belong to Orthodox churches from Syria, Iraq and Iran.

Assyrians who are virtually 100% Christians, actually assimilate very well into western nations such as Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, Australia and the USA.

They're also not Arabs. Arabs are an entirely different ethnic group. It would be like comparing Germanic people and Berbers.

Assyrians enter the written record thousands of years before Arabs appear at all.

You really need to read some books. You're embarrassing yourself all over this thread.

The middle east is a transcontinental region. It is a name based on geography...

Arabs are one of the ethnic peoples whom reside in the middle east.

Geographical regions don't have their own genetics. They're a name.
Arabs are a LINGUISTIC group, they are classified as Arabs because they speak an Arabic language.

Remember this guy?

Sadiq Hossein. The first champ from this region when it still was a brutal bloodsport. I may post the one fight I have of him if you are interested but its brutal stuff. Maybe too much even for Sherdog.

why respond to a group of people in one post, it makes it pretty hard to find all the times Ive been quoted

also to the last point, Im not talking nonsense. Beneil can be ethnically Assyrian.... but he is also Iranian. you can call it being an "Iranian National" all you want... but he is still an Iranian

because they don't have to get into a controlled environment that simulates a fight to show off their manliness, they have actual military conflict that needs their services
