It's already happening in boxing, some mma/UFC fighters have crossed over and loss to prospects. It just wasn't promoted as boxing vs mma and it wasn't the main event. So these fights will add on to the narrative of the Conor vs Floyd fight in terms of mma/UFC world champions vs boxers.

It's possible, but this isn't mma. You can't just clinch throughout the fight, it gets broken up. Don't think for a second they are going to let Askren clinch the whole fight. Askren is going to have to strike, so I hope he's working on his clinch fighting and not just clinch control. He needs to be able to throw punches while clinching. As long as he's only clinching with one arm he's allowed to throw with the other hand before it gets broken up. That's what he needs to work on if clinching is his strategy. But Jake Paul also throws his hardest shots from the start of the clinch, and when breaking out of a clinch. So he needs to watch out for that. Nate was basically running to him and trying to clinch in their fight, and Jake Paul KO him while he was running to him. So if Askren is planning on just running to a clinch over and over again he may end up getting hit with the same set ups. Nate is much more explosive and faster compared to Ben.
