askren is Chuck. Looks horrible and gets KTFO.

Askren has a granite chin. They are also going to be wearing much much larger boxing gloves. very easy to protect the face and chin with them. Look at Overeem. In K1 he didn't get finished because he could use the bigger gloves to protect that glass chin. In MMA with the tiny 4 ounce gloves he's set a record for number of KO losses.

Askren also has cardio for days. He doesn't need to win a boxing match, he just needs to tire out captain youtuber by clinching repeatedly and waiting until he's too tired to keep his hands up.

If you watch Jakes only amateur fight he goes five rounds in a dog fight no problem and then forces a corner stoppage tko despite getting his nose busted in the first round. Cardio isn’t an issue for him like his brother Logan.

Jake by tko or decision depending on how gritty Askren proves to be without being able to wrestle.

He's better now as well and in better shape. I saw his first fight and it's a big jump in skill and conditioning compared to his most recent fight with Nate. He may just get adrenaline dump because Askren is going to be the highest caliber fighter he's fought against. Even though he has the boxing advantage that fact can factor in on the mental aspect. That's the only variable I can see that can give Paul issues in the fight, if he gets mentally shaken up during the fight. Skill wise in boxing he should win, and by TKO/KO. They are both amateur level in boxing but Jake Paul does have the better boxing skill and KO punching power. The experience can be the issue, with him trying to go for the finish too early. If he's patient and stays relaxed and doesn't look for the finish and just let it happen like his recent fight, Jake should win the fight.

I do want Askren to win though, just because I know the shit storm that is going to happen if Jake Paul wins by KO/TKO. I do know this event is focused on having boxing come out on top vs former mma world champions. This event and the fight with Anderson Silva and Chavez Jr is just to add on to the whole boxing > mma narrative.

Look many fighters talk a lot of shit but he is very vocal and his fighting abilities don't match his shit talking.

Didn’t lose a fight until he was 34.
USA national wresling champion.
FILA world champion in grappling.
2 NCAA D1 gold medals and 2 silver.
Finished a former UFC champion.
6 times ONE FC champion.
6 time Bellator champion.

I think those combined make him at least a decent fighter.

Agree 100 percent. Cheering for Askren but I think the reality is Paul sparks him out early or pulls off a dominant decision if Askren chin holds up.

Yeah, you use less energy when you're doing skill work you're efficient at. Do you think Ben is going to come in efficient with his energy with one boxing camp after being ko'd and a prolonged break?
Jake has had a couple camps in a row. Those build up and you work off that momentum. Ben might be the overall better mma fighter but he's not a boxer.
Just because a bunch of you older guys have some wish fulfilment that good old ben (who is actually just as annoying as Jake) , to knock out jake. Doesn't mean he's a better boxer because he was a top competitor in mma. Jake has speed and power over ben. I just don't think Ben is going to have the gas or craft like he does in his amazing wrestling to get it done and that's what I really think. I honestly hope for a double ko.

That's the thing I think Ben goes to his wheelhouse which is grappling. He clinches the shit out of Jake and tires him out. Let's see what happens.

Listen guys, I’m rooting for Ben Askren.

It’s just hard not to respect a guy with no professional fighting experience putting everything on the line to fight in front of millions.

Let’s keep it real here, pre fight promotion aside, Jake Paul is going make that walk. He risks getting humiliated on live TV by getting outboxed by a former wrestler. He has everything to lose here. Askren, on the other hand, is supposed to lose.

I know the kid sounds like an idiot, but it’s very hard not to respect someone who is willing to put it all on the line.

It's boxing and it's a boxing promotion. Triller match this event up to try and highlight boxing > mma. Clinching isn't allowed and will be separated quick. I can see Askren running into an over hand by constantly trying to clinch. Jake Paul likes to throw it when people try to rush and clinch him. Askren doesn't have the head movement to avoid it, his head is always in center line with his chin up.

Jake Paul hits harder, has faster hands, and better combinations/timing. Jake Paul has proven he has one punch KO power with his hands, Askren has never showed the ability to do that. Biggest question is going to be Jake Paul handling the adrenaline dump and his conditioning since his fights have all been short. He seems to handle aggressive fighters running towards him very well. So if that's Askren's game plan to run into a clinch, it may not work out for him. If he tries to outbox Jake Paul I think the difference in boxing skill is going to be made obvious as the rounds progress. He's not going to be able to read all the strikes/combinations and start getting tagged, and that will eventually lead to a TKO/KO. His head never moves when he strikes and moves forward, it's not going to be a hard target to hit.

I do hope he can find a way to win though. Because him losing to Jake Paul is what the boxing community wants so they can shit on mma. Same reason why they just got the fight with Anderson Silva vs Chavez Jr. The boxers are targeting mma fighters for wins.

I'm a fan of both mma and boxing, but I do understand their match making. These are all in favor of the boxers.
