I could actually see askren going for a takedown in their boxing match.
 
Perry is a brawler just like Jake. They probably killed off brain cells together.

Jake isn’t a brawler. Not even close.

He’s a technical fighter, relatively speaking. That’s what he’s training to be, no different than Logan. Up until now, he still hasn’t quite trained out those natural instincts. Regardless of how much someone might know on paper, in a real fight all that shit can go away real quick.

I’d expect a more technical and tactical version of him for this fight.

I like to form opinions on all the available data. Not just one aspect of training. Especially when someone is so new and evolving so rapidly, every angle needs to be considered. Most of that sparring footage is pretty old.

He’s not a brawler. Nor is he training to be one.

Can’t compare him with Mike Perry. There’s a lot more intelligence behind Jake, his brother and their approach to things, including training than a lot of people probably realize.

We will see when he releases his next sparring footage. He is learning how to box. I don't see any real technical brilliance out of him.
Is he working behind a jab?

Where is the pop on the jab? It's there for his other punches but not the jab?
Look how low his other hand is when he jabs. Look at how his hands never returns after he jabs. This is technical? Come on man.

Dana is going to look stupid with what he's said after the fight.

I'm no Jake Paul fan, but to anyone even remotely interested in boxing and forgetting the personalities... it is astoundingly obvious that Jake Paul is going to batter him.

Think it’s a matter of managing expectations relative to how long he’s been doing this.

I believe his evolution and progression has been going quite well and we’re seeing rapid improvements in a very short period of time.

Logan’s a lot further along. Which is to be expected. Older bro and he’s the one who started the trend. But Jake is doing a lot of things which highlight a lot of natural talent and potential in the sport.

Definitely still learning, but again, we aren’t expecting professional or even proficient amateur level here. Cast all that aside, remove YouTube from the equation and he’s doing quite well.

he does have a pretty good jab actually. Logan’s is a lot better but he has a jab, for sure.

Again, I think you and others need to look at all the available data and footage before jumping to any conclusions. There’s a whole lot of stuff where he looks fairly unimpressive and vice versa.


Think a lot of people are coming at this shit pretty biased without realizing it.
