Please re-read what i put, I was talking about the Paul brothers. You said there better than 80% of boxers but to keep it short I said they are shit and only got turned pro as they can generate money - due to there fanbase.
I know boxing well, I've boxed for a long time and I've been around and sparred with newly turned pros..I can say for a fact Paul brothers are not better than your average amateur
I don't dispute that Paul brothers are boxing professionally because they can generate money. Of course that's the only reason they are fighting, they will never be elite fighters and they have no aspirations of being contenders. I agree with you.
However that is a false standard you are putting on them.. if you have spent as much time as you act like around boxers and the sport in general, you would know most professional boxers aren't turning pro because they are skilled. They are turning pro to make a quick buck.
You say you are a boxer and spar newly minted pros as if that means ANYTHING. It doesn't, at all and you would know that if you are experienced. You can't just decide you are going to be a pro footballer, but you CAN just decide to box professionally. You don't have to demonstrate skill or prove to be adequate in the ring, it's a PHYSICAL and a form with a fee.
That is what almost all of professional business boxing comprises of, no hopers who want a quick buck.
That is the average professional boxer. The average pro boxer is not an amateur stud, there are VERY few of those.
You think either Paul brother would look out of place on a card at a reservation during a Saturday night in the midwest? Get out of here. They would look exceptional.
You are all delusional thinking what you see in TV is at all indicative of what passes as professional boxing all across the US.
It's the same with amateur shows, do not kid yourself. There is a reason why the boxers of this decade are a lot less skilled than the generation before them.
