Apparently Dana Wasn't Lying About Diaz Training For A Triathlon

And I call bs, he clearly was training leading up to the fight, just took a bit of a break in training to go relax on a beach.

Conor made that reference to Nate's fightING condition in most of his fights, I doubt Nate posed for Conor shirtless in the weeks leading up to the fight.View attachment 88119
yeah he probably was on vacation.I said that. Yes he stays in shape as fighters should. But he was not training for a fight. He has said this. Again two weeks before the fight he was in mexico partying while conor was in a gym working on movement or whatever he does. Diaz was not training for a fight or riding bikes or swimming at that time.
Conor made that reference while laughing looking at him at one of the pressers right before the fight. He also made it a bunch of other times calling him a fat skinny man..

LOL i watch a lot of MMA shows, in the regional circuits and even some UFC fighters aren't in much shape at all
Your username and join date indicate otherwise. See my response to the other guy about the bj Penns and Roy nelsons. At the highest level those guys are far and few between plus being out of shape has bit them in the ass against less talented but harder working fighters. 9 out of 10 guys in the ufc are in shape, some better than others but that is athletics for you.

You dont know how well Diaz did in whatever tri that video clip is from.
You can party in Cabo, fight train for a week, then a few weeks of running, and simply jump into a tri, provided you maintain a decent level of training year round and that the cabo trip wasnt months long.

He, like anyone, would do better with more prep, butbthat isnt what this is about. This thread is about assuming that because he did a tri that he must have been training for one, was lying about Cabo, and I believe this gives some Conor fans peace of mind.

You guys are over rating what it takes to 'do a tri'. Doing a try in under 2.5 hours requires effort and natural ability. Just simply finishing one is not that big of a deal.

The video he posted was 3 weeks before the fight not 2.

Again he was obviously training for a triathlon since 4 weeks later he's in a triathlon... not to mention physically he was in great shape.

Instead we hAve to hear him come out with excuses of getting sick off the Mexican water, eating bad food in Mexico. In his own words being fat boy off the Cabo beach.

Doesn't look like a fat boy off the beach in Cabo to me.

Diaz had his excuses to lost all lined up, and won, but a Diaz never let's a good excuse go to waste

Fact is though that he wasn't physically unprepared to fight like he makes it out to be.

He was the better fighter obviously, doesn't change the fact that he's full of shit.

Who had a full camp and gassed in 1 round? Embarrassing BTW especially for a champion.
Who didn't have a full camp, basically no camp at all, and didn't gas?

lol you implied I don't watch a lot of MMA because of my join date, which is idiotic, and keep drinking the koolaid lil brah
Well doesn't know what they are talking about and troll coincide now don't they? That's why the term troll was coined, talking out of your ass to get a rise out of people. Now go watch some bums fight under your bridge and keep telling people you know about martial arts you scrub.

you think over 50% of UFC roster can do a triathlon right now?
I don't know much about triathalons. I do know a bit about MMA, though, and I cannot disagree more with your statement: "you don't have to be in that great shape to fight mma, tbh"

That statement is very telling.

I've seen guys come to the gym who are in great shape for other sports and they gas in the first round of wrestling or the first or second round of kickboxing.

Ding ding ding. Half the ufc roster couldn't do a triathlon and 95 percent of a triathlon roster wouldn't last a day or 2 of training let alone an actual fight.

You are just painfully dumb and the things you post in this thread directly contradict your own damn point. But you are too retarded to recognize it probably

yea who does gas after 1 round? someone who's not in shape, but yet it happened in the UFC

Pro Fighters exercise... holy shit, "breaking"

you guys need to listen to GSP talk. There's much to learn.

He talked about the difference in training for fun as a martial artist/athlete, and training for performance (for a fight).

He mentioned how when he trained for fun he'd tap out in the gym with a smile, and so on... but when he trained for performance (for a fight), he HAD to beat everyone he sparred with.

Ok and I have seen guys who are completely untrained fight in MMA at a lot of local shows. What's your point? Yes MMA training is intense and physically demanding.

But the level of competition is also very low at regional level of MMA.

You are just looking for a reason to stroke your ego about how tough your training is. And go for it. I do not disagree, I'm just poining out the fact that many people who aren't in good shapes have fought and are still fighting MMA all around the world
