apparently alistair overeem injured jones in training

This is fucking bullshit. Overeem at it again! He just left Blackzilians b/c of injuring Guto Inocente's knee in a sparring session. Now he's doing this at Jacksons too? Already? and with this big of a fight camp? Not to mention all the other reports of Overeem injuring people at different gyms throughout his career. I mean, what the fuck? Dude needs to go back to Thailand and make some more episodes of The Reem.

Yeah dude, nobody Guto Inocente was beating Overeem with 1 leg and a broken hand in a sparring session and that's why Overeem injured him. That makes so much sense :icon_lol:

Unbelievable. month and a half before his title fight, he's letting a top hw try to take him down.

What's unbelievable is sherdog posters thinking they know more about fight preparation than one of if not the best coach in MMA.

Well god damn it, make Reem fight DC then.

What's the point of that? They have to refund the money no?
Only if the customer asks for it to be refunded/hasn't made plans/investments in going

From someone who used to work in sales... not many people actual ask for the refund. A hell of a lot of people that wouldn't buy a MM title fight headline will keep it since they already bought it and made plans.

How the fuck is he supposed to train for an olympic wrestler then, guy?

Jesus, people who don't train complaining about how professional fighters (especially the #1 ranked fighter in the world) train is fucking stupid. If you don't know what you're talking about just shut up and don't say anything.

So The Reem spoiled the damned show.

Jesus christ, you act as if that was a real fight. You have to be a fucking idiot to think that big names like overeem just destroy everyone in the gym all day everyday. In actuality, all top fighters have their bad days training. It's just part of the game. Sometimes you're even having a good day, but tired as shit and sparring at the end and getting a bit beat by a "nobody." Some dudes take it in stride, and others get a little fussy, such as Overeem. These are the guys that are dangerous and have bad reputations, as others have brought up previously.

Also, it wasn't actually with one leg. He just had a pre-existing knee problem on one side... and alistair happened to fuck up the other side as well. and, again, don't act like big names don't get down in sparring sessions. shit happens all the time. overeem is known for doing this stupid shit in sparring. get a little down and things aren't going your way one day, and then get stupid and start acting like it's a real fight going 100%.

If Overeem can't control himself, he's putting his training partners in jeopardy and that is NOT okay. There's usual risks associated with training, of course. But Overeem takes it too far in the gym, and he has the power to really hurt guys. If he can't control himself in training, is it so wrong for his training partners to be upset? He's a professional fighter. Self-discipline is part of the game.

i know nothing about how training camps go, so i'm curious as to why jones is training with overeem to prepare for cormier?

just because they are on the same team? what does overeem do that remotely resembles cormier?

For the same reason that Luke Rockhold is simulating Jon Jones in sparring with DC. You help your teammates

1. Jones had better thank his lucky stars it didn't happen during a DC takedown

2. This will give fodder for saying Jones cannot handle a HW fight

3. There is no spoon

My point is that you are a fool if you actually believe that a nobody like Guto Inocente beat Overeem on the feet in a sparring session with an injured knee and a broken hand so badly that Overeem purposely injured him.

More Overeem. less ufc. :)

It does seem like it doesn't it? Will Dana ever like him again? :icon_lol: First he retires their biggest asset (Brock), then fails a drug test to cancel the JDS fight with, then loses to BF when he was supposed to annihilate him, repeats that trick with Browne and then safely decisions the sentimental favourite (Mir) when everyone expected a crushing finish... This one may take the cake though: preventing one of the biggest and certainly most anticipated fights ever to take place.
