apparently alistair overeem injured jones in training

That's bull; the guy knows he has a reputation as this gigantic, hulking killer and is just trying to live up to it for psychological purposes.

He did weigh in heavier than normal for Brock, at 263 lbs, but was, again, wearing shoes, jeans and a thick belt.

There's absolutely no way he was cutting from 275 lbs. You don't cut from 275 lbs and then end up three pounds under the maximum allowable limit (266 lbs) while still wearing heavy street clothes.

Maybe he had meant 'going down' from 275 pounds, not actual water cut.

With his size, he could get bit more fat, retain more water, and bam, 275/

"It's part of the game" referring to getting injured? If you even want to have a relevant sport that anyone gives a fuck about, please prevent "this part of the game" lol.

Next he'll make sure not to work on his tdd so he can make sure he doesn't get injured

Sokoudjou vs EcoReem for the Title of who gets to ruin Jones' is next fight

Pfft. That's progress bro. The best athletes science can make. I'm all in. They bring entertainment. Hit the long ball in baseball to epic KO's.

Agree 100%. PED restrictions are ridiculous and ruining the sport. MOST fighters are chemically made, from GSP, to Overeem, to Vitor, to Randy Couture, to even Tim Sylvia (back in the day). Now we have two guys getting popped every show and guys getting injured left, right and sideways.

Give me juice-monsters who fight on time and are more resiliant to training injuries any day.

he does what training partners ask him to do. Go as hard as he can. As in fights their opponents will do the same. You dont want Reem going as hard as he can tho as he is dangerous.

Have you ever worked hard for anything in your life? When you're trying to be the best, you don't stop until you absolutely have to. I sincerely hope you're trolling.

Take a breath, Tiger Lilly.

And dude's name's fucking Foot Odors. Doubt he's the most philosophical type of dude.

I've heard a few stories about Overeem injuring people or knocking out people who had upcoming fights from people who trained at Golden Glory. Apparently, he gets unsafe in sparring if his ego get hurt.

Sorry, not listing sources. Take from it what you want.

This is true, have heard and pretty confirmed the same from people that are more involved in mma. Overeem does not like to be made look bad in training and will get very competitive. Same thing happened with he was training with Blackzilians.

Hahaha yeah right, just like that time nobody Guto Inocente supposedly was beating Overeem in sparring with 1 leg and a broken hand? Keep dreaming

People have always underestimated Overeems wrestling, at 205 he was already very good, at HW I think he's probably the best wrestling non wrestler if you get my drift.

I agree, he's probably also the best grappler at HW that doesn't have his base in BJJ, Catch or Sambo.

Nah, Cain ruined him after those beatings. He will not be the same monster he was, mark my words.

JDS' first fight post-Cain:

Jones is a matchstick. He is a walking dead man fighting HWs.

If he was scared before re. moving to HW, now he's petrified.

Others pointed out long ago he's too fragile for HW.

205 to 250+ is not the 15-lb wgt jump of other divs. It's 3x!

This is fucking bullshit. Overeem at it again! He just left Blackzilians b/c of injuring Guto Inocente's knee in a sparring session. Now he's doing this at Jacksons too? Already? and with this big of a fight camp? Not to mention all the other reports of Overeem injuring people at different gyms throughout his career. I mean, what the fuck? Dude needs to go back to Thailand and make some more episodes of The Reem.

Jones injured getting taken down by Overeem
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2161132-jon-jones-injury-updates-on-ufc-stars-leg-and-recovery

Greg Jackson spoke to Tristen Critchfield of Sherdog.com about how Jon Jones suffered his injury:

According to Jackson, the injury occurred while Jones was defending a takedown from UFC heavyweight talent Alistair Overeem during wrestling practice.

“It’s part of the game, it wasn’t like ... somebody went for a flying kick and dislocated [something]. Somebody went for a takedown, [Jones] stepped the wrong way, twisted the wrong way and down he went. He was fighting it, and he just twisted it. And then it just popped,” Jackson said.

"Alistair’s maybe 240, Jon’s 220. It’s not like he was working with a giant moose. It was just one of those things."

if Overeem can take him down, DC can make him look foolish.

Still bummed this fight was postponed.

I will believe it when I see it.
Jones was probably training with fresh partners and he overextended himself. Too bad. I wanted to see another 205 ch. fight b4 the year was up.
