Have you seen Glengarry Glen Ross?

I couldn't enjoy boiler room because it seemed like a rip off of Glengarry right down to the Affleck speech.

But I've often wondered if I'd seen boiler room first, would I like that one better?
FWIW, I've never seen Glengarry, and I thought Affleck's "anybody who says money is the root of all evil, doesn't have any" speech was great...well-written and well-delivered.

I’ll go masterpiece.

I’ve never loved the frequent use of an expletive in a movie as much as I love the use of “dogshit” in Wall Street.

“I bet you stayed up all night analyzing that dogshit stock you gave me, huh? Where’d it get ya?”

Must watch for anyone in a sales-y/BD type of role. Boiler Room is the 20th century version, followed by Wolf of Wall Street.

Douglas best movie imo . He makes the movie and Charlie is actually good in this as well. Also a good story. The sequel is actually decent as well - it gets more grief than it should

I think it's sensational. Douglas is exceptional in this. I like seeing him and Sheen interact. So many quotable lines, too.

I thought it was an average film. Not even remotely re-watchable.
Doesn't deserve the praise it gets on Sherdog.

I believe I saw that film all those years ago when it came out in theaters. It didn't have much of an impact on me. A friend i saw it with I recall though seemed to enjoy it greatly.

Loved it and has some iconic lines. Sequel tucked though. Great acting by Sheen and his dad, also Terence Stamp. Douglas was amazing and deserved his Oscar. It's a 10 for me.
