I remember hearing about it. Never saw it. I heard it really was terrible.

Yet all things being equal especially skill, it will be harder for smaller man to even place bigger man into scarf hold than bigger to smaller man. And Bigger man can just as easily control smaller man once in scarf hold.

Yeah, I know. But, at the time, the disparity in skill between a trained person vs. a noob (of any size) was eye-opening. And I don't really see that level of disparity in other combat sports outside of grappling. For example, could a smaller boxer beat up a bodybuilder? I'm not sure. Beat in points, sure. Actually beat up? I have not seen this. But we see this all the time in grappling. That is why grappling was so fascinating to me.

Fight Quest was great.

My favourite one of these kind of shows was Last Man Standing.

They did a mix of combat sports and endurance events.

That one was really interesting to me. They seemed to get more into the culture of the events and people involved. It felt less contrived than the other two sometimes did. I got a good laugh out of the "run a long way while kicking the ball in shitty sandals episode" where one dude was pacing himself so he could do the stated distance and then halfway through the native dudes were like, "eh, that's enough, lets go get drunk".

Kung Fu episode with the pool playing monk was cool, as was the Krav Maga one where Doug got the piss beat out of him by the scary Israeli woman.

Yeah the part i really remembered was when the big guy broke down in the muay thai ep , said his dad had dementia etc and saw a pic of his son with all the other thai guys and it snapped him out of it a little bit .....right in the feels damn those fucking onions !
