I remember the UFC was setting up Story for a title shot if he beat Marquardt but Marquardt had to pull out and Brenneman stepped in on short notice. For some reason that fight sticks out to me as the biggest upset in UFC history (one of them obviously GSP vs Serra is the top.) It was very weird. It wasn't even a flash KO Brenneman dominated him. After that lass Story's career went steeply down hill.

Yes it was a massive upset. I think Story x Marquardt was a makeshift match-up as well.. wasn't Rumble involved somehow? Or am I just inserting Rumble because he decapitated Brenneman later

I wouldn't say Story's career went that downhill, he was around in the UFC for a good while after that and beat Gunnar Nelson in a main event.

Story was one of those weird wrestlers who could only wrestle well in the clinch. Brennerman dove on hips hips and then it was over.

Guy had a rough go of it in the ufc. Never finished any of his wins, and got finished in every single one of his losses.

Damn, i forgot about that fight, but it was incredibly weird. Brenneman just casually out wrestled him, like really casually. It confused me becaue Story got the better of Hendricks via wrestling... then gets out wrestled by a guy that realistically should have been a Lightweight

THat Martin Kampmann fight was grea

Stil had a decent career, only Maia and Cerrone stopped him, he was competitive in most of his losses. Dude loved to bang it out

Was rooting for him in his PFL comeback, could have won that year were it not for the broken arm

I do, one of my dark horse feel-good moments of the UFC.

Story was a cocky motherfucker on a roll, many fans proclaiming he was a potential champion in the making. Brenneman steps up on a few days notice, in his home state, gave a pretty cool talking head before the intro music, came down to the cage to 'Coming Home' and fucking owned him to a decision. Boring performance, but dominant, it was great

Brenneman has a pretty good showing on Pro's vs Joes. AAA stuff.

It was one of those results you never saw coming. Story was coming off two solid wins over Alves & Hendricks, and a mauling of Dustin Hazelett

Brenneman was sort of meandering around, mainly just there to save the fight and ends up winning. It wasn't even a controversial decision, pretty clear-cut
