Anyone planning on watching the Olympics opening ceremony tonight?

I know that a lot of people are cynical about the Olympics these days, and rightly so on a lot of fronts, but I still enjoy watching them and I believe in the idea of a competition that brings all nations together. For me, it's a "don't throw the baby out with the bath water" kind of thing.

What do you guys think? Still a fan of the Olympics? Do you still watch?

I'll watch a few events. My favorite Olympic moment was when this one Japanese Judoka, who won gold 4 years earlier, gave an interview saying he wants to go back to the real judo. He lost in the first round. So much for real judo.

I'll agree that the Winter Olympics are a lot less interesting than the Summer Olympics. The Summer Olympics are awesome. I need that insane gymnastics action!
