Health Anyone had PRP therapy?

Yeah, sticking a big needle into my shoulder multiple times with no local was fun LOL

Apparently the tear was going right up into the joint somehow and preventing it from healing properly.

Crossing fingers.

Your knees are still good after you had it done?
Yep knee still feels good. It got extra tested with the other lower leg being in a cast for 6 weeks too.

For now yeah. If it starts to hurt again I can go back, but so far so good.

Update us on your recovery, bud. Been following this treatment for a while and am interested.
As an update: Eight days later, I have only lightly tested basic range of motion and some light band resistance but the pain seems to mostly be gone already.

The doctor said to not get back to any heavy weights till at least two weeks after the second treatment, which will be mid January. I'm just going to take it easy till then... but feeling really positive so far, after being injured for more than a year.

About as good as you could have hoped for 👍

Yep, no complaints. The beer is probably killing any pain currently. Crankshaft for the win :)
Hell yeah. In other news I heard Capital are opening another bar in Feb, location tba.

Nice, hopefully somewhere central rather than shit out in the middle of nowhere in Fyshwick.

You asked for an update. Now, nearly a month after PRP, after a pretty rough start, with quite a bit of pain for the first two weeks...

After no improvement at all for nearly a year, even with lots of rehab, it is nearly 100% now. I'm still going to get the second injection, on the 15'th, even though it may fully heal from here, but just to be safe.

It ended up costing me about $400, but if I could go back to 12 months ago, I still would have happily gotten it done, even if cost 50 times that much.

So as a summary: Opinion is overwhelmingly positive so far.

So... both of my rotator cuffs aren't great. I have had a referral to a specialist for scans for potentially getting it.

For those not familiar: basically: "Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a treatment that uses a concentration of platelets derived from your own blood to promote healing in injured tissues. It is commonly used for conditions like tendon injuries, arthritis, and hair loss, although its effectiveness can vary."

Just thought I'd ask if anyone has any experience with this?
I did on both my Achilles. Worked for one. Ruptured the other years later anyways.
