Anyone feel like Strickland can get this done?

I dont.
Just dont seem to have the right attributes for it.
Dricus Africanus has a better chance.

I given him a slight chance. He's crafty, has his own style, and is hard to hit (baring the Alex fight). I think he's actually got the best defensive percentage in the MW division. I'm too lazy to look it up, but someone will come in here who knows.
I've heard that too. And using the Alex fight is a bad metric for the Izzy fight imo. I can't remember anyone else who KOed him besides Alex freaking Peireira

Any chance he goes D1 and tries to take Izzy down? Can't remember if he's ever done that previously.
Sean's not great with the td's (not that he's a slouch), however he's really well versed in the grappling when need be.

I smell a possible upset. Strickland is no joke at all. He's gotten better since the Alex fight and I feel like he's got the attitude and psychology to win. He looks to be in great shape and I feel he's thought he'd fight Izzy for a long time

I don't know if it's just me. I wouldn't bet on Sean nor do I favor him, I just feel like he's getting written off
WAR STRICKLAND!

When O'Malley beat Aljo it was the biggest reminder since Pena beat Nunes that... 'Any Given Saturday.'

Israel is too smart to waste his energy. My concern is Israel's circling, range and speed. He may negate any grappling from Strickland. Strickland usually wins with his output and cardio but I don't know if he can corner Izzy. Nor am I certain Sean can survive Adasanyas offense

But if nows a time to rise to the occasion its now. This fight shouldn't resemble Sean's previous fights
I honestly don't see Strickland winning unless he can pull something similar to Bisping surprising Rockhold. Israel's team isn't bad. They will recognize patterns since Strickland's moveset doesn't have much variety. Strickland has to do something new in order to win the fight. Who knows? Maybe Israel doesn't train hard for this camp.

Strickland is tailor made for Adesanya. I don’t say that lightly, there’s just so much working against Strickland here.

Strickland:
- Reach disadvantage (76” vs 80”)
- Doesn’t move very well. Sean stands in a very upright stance and does his best work when he can move slowly towards the opponent, using pressure, jabs and 1-2s plus his good defense to gain advantage of his opponents.

Example:
You-Cut-20230115-041630358-1.gif

- Someone who can kick him from the outside and keep moving to stay at a distance, out of the pocket, will be a great pain in the ass of Sean’s. Adesanya can easily play that game.

- Doesn’t have big power in his punches. He can hurt people and wear them down (like he did in his last fight, great performance against Magomedov). Needs to keep landing.

- Does have a good ground game, but rarely uses it offensively as he likes to keep it standing and jab people in the face. Offensive wrestling isn’t there.

I see Strickland walking forward in his weird upright stance, getting chewed up with leg kicks and smacked with straight punches when he starts to worry more about the kicks. Adesanya and his team will have Sean mapped out, they’ll find the weak spots and attack them until the fight is over.

Adesanya wins via (T)KO.

I hope I’m wrong!

It's one of the few times where barring multiple consecutive Izzy brainfarts, I don't really see a path to victory for the contender.

As long as Israel takes him as seriously as he took Pereira, Israel will remind us why he’s a reigning defending, vindicating champion. I have nothing against Strickland, but Adesanya is the king.
King? Eh don't go that far. He's had some questionable defenses.

But he is the best at mw

We have seen Weidman KO’ing Silva, Pena beating Nunes, stranger things have happened, so there’s always a possibility but it’s gonna be tough for Strickland to pull this off…

I've never watched him fight, so I'm gonna say no.

I can see an upset in this fight. So many wrote offs, yet we often get that reminder that styles make fights. On paper, Izzy has this in the bag. I think we see an upset though. Izzy gets cocky in this one.

Nah, Sean is good but this fight is the definition of "There's levels to this".
