Anyone feel like Strickland can get this done?

LOL no.

Izzy via 50-45 legkick-jab combo.

Who knows.. maybe Adesanya comes out aggressive and we get ourselves a fight.

Strickland grew on me. He's funny and he trolls. His antics before the Alex fight on Izzy was funny. I think Strickland gets pieced up and stands too long. Furthermore he doesn't got the power wrestling like Jan nor the striking fire power of Alex.

1st rd ko by Izzy. Would be a Serra HSP upset if Sean wins

If Sean has a brain (and I'm not sure he actually does...) he should try to SURPRISE Israel with something that he doesn't normally do.
So....jab jab jab and plodding forward aint gonna work Sean.

Clinch him and judo throw or shoot a really FAST double or something and try to submit Adesanya. It's his best chance.
He ain't gonna win on points and he ain't gonna win a striking battle so..... wrestle the Breaking Native to the ground and choke him out or armbar him.

Then.....he'll no longer be the Breaking Native, but the Broken Native.

Not unless he can get some TDs. I don't think he could pull of something like Jan did, but I guess it's possible. Bisping trained with Sean and said his grappling is very underrated FWIW. But in a pure stand-up fight, Izzy is a very tough fight for him. I can't see him winning without some TDs, time on the ground and the constant threat of TDs which could throw Izzy's striking off.

I smell a possible upset. Strickland is no joke at all. He's gotten better since the Alex fight and I feel like he's got the attitude and psychology to win. He looks to be in great shape and I feel he's thought he'd fight Izzy for a long time

I don't know if it's just me. I wouldn't bet on Sean nor do I favor him, I just feel like he's getting written off
Sean looks like a counter strikers dream..I just see Izzy playing with him...Izzy is going to make fun of Sean in the ring imo..Like Anderson did with one fighter.

Sean can take him down but will he and will he inflict damage ?

Strickland gets knocked out. All he can do is push the pace but he's not sharp enough to avoid getting countered

Probably not, but MMA is crazy.

-I thought the idea of Glover beating Jan after Jan beat Adesanya was ludicrous
-Pena definitely wasn't supposed to beat Nunes
-I didn't see a reasonable path to victory for Aljo in the Yan rematch
-I definitely didn't put money on Figueiredo winning the Moreno trilogy after he got absolutely smoked in their rematch
-Speaking of betting, what were the live odds on Edwards winning the first Usman fight going into its final minute?
-Shevchenko getting finished by who had been a journeywoman up to that point wasn't on my 2023 UFC bingo card
-I thought Du Plessis could only beat Whittaker by fluke. Wasn't a fluke.

Not a good chance I reckon. He’s got the punchers chance. Could stun him with a crafty punch and run him down. But I think Izzy’s skill set is extremely well situated to keep Sean at Izzy’s preferred engagement ranges.

Izzy should be better everywhere. If Strickland wants any chance to win he needs to push the pace and hope to tire Izzy out. He's kind of like a shittier Diaz bro in that he continually throws with minimal power, but can do so relentlessly. Izzy needs to be disciplined and he should be 100% fine. But if you go out and match the output, while throwing bombs, you'll exhaust yourself. I think Izzy is way too smart to do that.

on paper izzy should get the w every time.

but anything can happen in a fight, strickland is not as stupid as he acts.

he also has a reckless pressure style that could give izzy problems early on.

i dont really see sean winning, .he is not really known for his knockouts or subs.

the longer the fight goes his chances get worse.

izzy is better everywhere. and will eventually get the timing down,

but it would be sweet to see the upset!

I'm skeptical. All I know for sure about Sean is that he's got a great gastank and an excellent jab and striking defence. Rob outjabbed Izzy pretty well in their second fight but their styles are different. I think Sean is slower and doesn't have that in/out karate style, so I don't know if Sean can be as effective dealing with Izzy's leg kicks and counters. Plus I know Izzy is more likely than Sean to come in with a gameplan. So I dunno, Sean has to come into this fight with a different attitude and show off a few skills he doesn't usually show.

I hope this kid Strickland gives this Chinese man Adesanya a boxing lesson and makes him do the man dance.

Well, he looked great against some small guy in sparring, so...
