He's still the point fighter he's always been. Let's face it, the guy is getting a title shot because everyone else is sidelined or injured. He's not the first, second, or third person the UFC wanted for a title fight, especially against a guy that embarrassed him once before.

Maybe you have a more encompassing definition of elite. To me, elite means champ or legit contender level

Bisping is an also-ran, a terrific gatekeeper but not a true contender

But maybe he will beat Rockhold and prove me wrong. It's not impossible

He beat Rockhold, which I didn't think he would - though of course always acknowledged he could.

I think Bisping is a little above Serra. At peak they are similar in skill IMO. But Bisping had a edge in longevity.

I know the randomness of sports. I even posted Bisping KOing Rockhold wouldn't surprsise me too much. So one win doesn't make a career for me.

Bisping really does have longevity though. Mad props to him for that.
