Anyone feel Bisping has improved his striking over the last couple of fights?

Not saying he’s a world beater or anything and almost anyone drops Silva nowadays.

It’s just looking like his technique has improved and also his power.

Still picking Rock of course, but maybe it can be a little more competitive.

Yeah, almost anyone drops Silva these days... Gotta love SD.

He looks the same to me.

Dude has always been a fringe contender and a GOAT gatekeeper.

Good movement, nice combos. Tough as shit. Lack of power has always been his caveat which keeps him from the very top tier.

He's always had fantastic striking. He really shines when there's no threat of the takedown.

Look at his best performances in recent years, against Belcher, Cung Le and Anderson.

It's also why his striking looked better against a world class striker in Anderson than it did against mediocre striker (but amazing grappler) Thales Leites.

Couldn't of said it better myself. Spot on

Come on dude, didn't you know? He wasn't even that good to begin with! Weidman and Bisping were just the very first people who weren't scared of him!

(someone actually said this yesterday)

Cung Le agrees.

He's made slight improvements. He kicks and throws hooks more often. He occasionally sits on his punches but for the most part his game is still centered on the jab-cross. I wouldn't mind him taking a leaf out of the Diaz book and throw more body shots given that his path to victory is usually to wear you down and outwork you.

Well, while its an exaggeration, it's still partly true. Silva gets dropped pretty easily these days.

Remember that weak shot in the clinch in the Weidman rematch? And Bisping tends to drop guys with volume, repeated shots. Not as often one-shots like against Anderson.

Bisping works very hard, as his cardio shows. But he isn't too talented, innately. It's hard work, which I do respect, but he isn't an elite fighter.

As for the topic, I don't think he's really improved his striking. He's always had good, but not great striking.

Ten years in the ufc, between two and four title eliminators and the second guy to beat Silva in the ufc. How is he not elite?

He sat down on his punches much more in the Silva fight, he looked like he did when he was a lhw, it seemed when he moved to middleweight he bought a bike and used it in every fight since, i fucking loved watching him walk forward and stepping into his punches, it's what made me a fan in the first place and i really hope he does the same against Rockhold.
I would be so happy for the lad if he wins the title, not sure it'll happen but if it does...

Edit, no idea why that post was quoted, sorry.

No.

He has mediocre pillow punching that anyone doing 3 months of training picks up.

How has nobody realized this?

He gets m u ltiple early stoppages and stand ups because there are no uk stars until Conor came along

He would have to improve massively to even get near Rockhold. His spinning kicks are so telegraphed these days and he appears so much slower. I like Bisping and love his attitude to fighting, however this is his last chance and he knows this as well. I imagine if he loses he will take a few gatekeeper fights and then call it a day.

Lol just lol.

Bisping with power would have been a champ and LHW and MW.

Liked your post for content as well

I think he's regressed a little. He was mixing in TDs at one point but stopped doing that.
