Anyone else think Valentina will dominate that division for a long time?

She lost a split decision to a much bigger fighter in Nunes at 135.

Joanna is too small and might not be better anyway.

I don’t see anyone beating Sjevtjenko at 125.

She makes 3 1/2 title defenses max.

What’s a long time ?

She can probably win the title. I’m not sure how long she could hold it. If she does indeed win the title.

I don’t know.

She is in a better weight class for her now. Since the division is a newer one. Only time will tell who we see that can match her. Right now after last night. She will be hard to beat for a while.

Of course she will... That weight class was specifically designed to give a blonde chick that speaks English the belt... There's no competition.

They wanted PVZ - they'll settle for Valentina... And they'e gonna shove it down our throats until we choke.

Fuck WMMA and what it's become.

Thanks for the warning.

I don't really see anyone beating her, but if she does that shit where she does not like to engage or hang back all fight looking for the counter she will lose via split quick and maybe to someone who is not even as talented as she is. That is what like about JJ she is not afraid to push the action, but I think Bullet is a more complete fighter.

Anytime.

It's a joke division that has no place co-maining anything, especially with the kind of calibre we saw last night - that chick didn't even know how to throw a fucking jab - literally 15 months ago she was a homeless crack addict... That's the level of talent there - of course Shevchenko will dominate the division - there's literally nobody else.

Still more than at Women's 145.

About the same - they'e both pointless divisions created with a particular individual in mind.that don' have the talent pool to stretch out a real Top 5.

She is P4P the best WMMA fighter by far. Also technically more well rounded and better than 98% of the male fighters.

Yea she looked dangerous, one of the few female fighters i look forward to watching.Hope she gets that title shot soon.

I hate the idea of multiple women's division but I don't think 125 was made for PVZ. UFC has known she's not championship material since the Rose fight probably.

It was created because outside the UFC it was always the deepest division and we have many female fighters who were either too small or too big for their weight classes. It had no sense to have 135 and 115 without something in the middle.

Personally, if I had to choose one women's division to stay, it would be 125. It became quite watered down when UFC didn't decide to open it and most fighters changed their weight classes to get a contract, but in a few years it will be the main women's division when most good 135ers will drop down or 115 go up.

So what the living fuck was she doing fighting a crack head in a title eliminator?

I guess that's fair enough... But until they fill the divisions, do we have to watch amateurs on the main card?

Yes, just like you have to watch Cyborg dominating mediocre 135ers in PPV main events. This is the price we have to pay for millions of PPVs sold by Ronda.

Most of women's MMA is kind of amateurish, so I'd rather see her against Shevchenko and witness a one sided beatdown with a great finish, than some other girl on this level resulting in 15 minutes of hugging and technically awful missed punches, like most of women's MMA.

I'm all about jobber fights too - it was aweosme how they gave guys tune up fights in between big events regardless if they'd won or not... But was marketed as just that - they'd only put CroCop or whoever in the poster so you knee you were watching a spectacle and not what is supposed to be a legit title eliminator.

They're doing it wrong.

Anyone can look good beating up a punching bag

War Nicco!

Imagine how vindicated Alexis Davis would be if she beat Shevchenko lol.

Wmma is thin no doubt. It needs to keep the exposure in order to continue to grow and gain interest. People can bitch about it all they like but if there is money and interest in the sport, more women will show up with skills on down the road.

Valentina is a great little fighter and deserves respect. She is a decorated striker and seems to have a well rounded mma game. I watched the open workout and she looked very sharp and was doing things that show that she is a very athletic person. I hope the worthy opposition shows up while she is still young enough in her career.
