(phoney nonsense not here)
You deserve to take a Derrick Lewis punch in the face, you dishonest fuck. Fuck all the way off keyboard warrior. Lost money and went to Sherdog whine about it. Deal with it like a man.

As if the bet was it goes to decicon would have made millions, that's quite an accusation.

There are more reasons as to why a man might not want to do unnecessary damage to their opponent aside from bets.

Remember CM Punk vs Mike Jackson? Mike Jackson chose not to finish that fight, taunting CM Punk on top instead. Dana gave him a ear full for joking around on top instead of finishing it.

Remember when the winner of a fight purposefully tapped to avoid hurting his opponent more?

Someone in another thread mentioned maybe Almeida had family with bets on the fight going the distance since the odds were huge.

That's straight up fixing imo, and should cause more fallout than what happened with that coach a few months ago... IF it's really what happened. Idk one way or the other but sounds like a lot are thinking that way.

Wouldn't be fixing, it would violate UFC's internal policies against people with relations with fighters making bets (which is a rule that's only went into effect this year)

Dana White used to let fighters bet on themselves. You could bet that you would finish your opponent by KO or SUB, you can literally bet you would win via points on yourself too.

You have to try to lose for it to be a fix, trying to win via a specific method isn't fixing a fight.

That's not true. If you have a guaranteed opening on your opponent and instead of finishing them you let them survive it would draw massive amounts of suspicion. And possibly even trigger some type of investigation. It would be the MMA equivalent of point shaving which the FBI had an entire unit dedicated to just tracking point shaving in college basketball.

Imagine a fighter rocks someone and instead of following up they run away or just stand there laughing like an idiot like Diaz against Edwards. And all of a sudden this starts happening more and more. And the betting coincides with them taking the fight to a decision.

Fighting is very different from other sports. You can choose not to do unnecessary damage to your opponent.

What if a fighter said in a pre-fight conference, I don't want to hurt my opponent, I will just try to win by controlling him as much as possible.

Would that be a fix? What if he didn't announce it, said it internally, and just did that?

Almeida is undersized and Lewis is strong and heavy.

There was fuckery going on 100% it makes no sense at all. He had full mount and did nothing. He could have thrown weak punches just to score points and get the judges attention for a stop

He bet his own payday to win by Dec? Very risky but very rewarding if true
